LastPass password manager is free for all devices (11/8)

Password manager LastPass, which can be a suitable alternative to the popular application 1Password, has come with a new update and changes. New users who download LastPass can register for the program completely free of charge and thus do not have to pay for the premium version. Those who already use LastPass can also use all the services for free and even have all their passwords synced across devices.

On the other hand, there are some limitations, such that if you start using LastPass on a Mac, for example, you will only be able to synchronize your passwords with one other Mac. Users who would like to take advantage of cross-device synchronization and all of LastPass's other services, regardless of platform, will need to subscribe to LastPass Premium for $12 per year.

Mac users will also be pleased that the application can be used and, above all, opened in all types of browsers. All you have to do is download the necessary extensions and all passwords are always at hand.

Twitter abolished the 140-character limit for private messages (12.)

Twitter has finally lifted the limit on private messages to just 140 characters. The new limit is equal to 10 thousand characters. The change only applies to private messages. Classic public tweets remain limited to 140 characters.

The point of this update is that Twitter is trying to make private messages a more usable feature and thus get users to use it more. At the beginning of this year, for example, he introduced the possibility of group correspondence. In April, on the other hand, an update came, thanks to which you can now receive a message from any Twitter user without having to follow them.

All these updates may also have another explanation, namely that Twitter is trying to get closer to competing services led by Facebook Messenger and WhatsApp. According to the latest statistics, Twitter is struggling with weaker growth in the number of new users.

Twitter is still rolling out the new update, so it's possible that it hasn't appeared on your device yet. Of course, the change applies to both the web interface and all mobile applications.

Medieval battles with the March of Empires

Strategy games are never enough. The developers from Gameloft have released a new game, March of Empires, which once again relies on the well-known game concept of defending territory and conquering a new one. All battles this time are set in the medieval period.

March of Empires is very similar to the strategy game Clash of Clans. In the game, you can play as three nations, while there are game elements such as alliances, negotiating strategies, sending messages and, above all, very interesting graphics.

As with other strategy games, here too you will create and build an army and send it to enemy territories. March of Empires is for download in the App Store free, while the game includes in-app payments.

RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 - build your dream amusement park

Last week, the developers from Frontier Developments released the sequel to the well-known amusement park simulator RollerCoaster Tycoon 3. It is available for both iPhone and iPad. In the game, a classic entertainment simulator awaits you, which seems to have lost its computer predecessor.

The point of the game is, of course, to build an amusement park, which will be full of various attractions, auto tracks, centrifuges and much more. You can choose from three game modes: tutorial, classic career and sandbox. It is the last mentioned mode, i.e. sandbox, that offers probably the most enjoyment, where you can fully exercise your creative potential.

RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 also offers several game scenarios and tasks. Also, the positive news is that the game does not include in-app payments. All you have to do is buy the game once in the App Store for an acceptable five euros.

Important update

Snapchat comes with a Travel Mode that reduces data usage

Last week, Snapchat got an update that introduced a new Travel Mode that will reduce your mobile data usage. Snaps of your friends do not open automatically, but only after a tap. You can also add different smileys to your photos.

The new Trophy Case mode also appeared in the application for a while, but it disappeared shortly after with the next update. So it is evident that the developers accidentally launched the upcoming novelty, but it has not yet been fine-tuned to perfection.

The point of Trophy Case is to collect trophies that you get when you complete different tasks. All that is known so far is that one of the tasks is to take ten snaps with the front camera with flash. So we have to wait a little longer for further tasks and the official launch of this news.

Twitterrific has changed its look and functionality in iOS 9

The changes in the new Twitterrific update for iOS 9 are not major, but useful and work better with the new system. For example, until now, third-party apps didn't have access to Safari's data and features, which changes with the arrival of Safari View Controler. This allows applications like Twitterrific to work with cookies and passwords stored in the native iOS browser. So if a user logs into a site in Safari and then visits the same site through Twitterrific (which now also uses Safari), they won't have to log in again. The Reader and the sharing bar are now also available.

iOS 9 also has a new system font, San Francisco, which can replace iOS 8's Helvetica Neue in Twitterific as well. Furthermore, the changes in appearance concern rather individual elements, so users do not have to worry about the need to get used to the new environment.

Also available for iOS 8 users is a new hand-off integration that works with the Mac version of the app to easily transfer web links and images between them.

Performance improvements and fixes are also an integral part of the update.

Plex will recommend a movie based on similarity or rating on Rotten Tomatoes

Plex is an application especially useful for those who have several devices for viewing multimedia content and want to be able to move between them smoothly without having to search for the place where they left off in viewing a movie or album of pictures.

A few days ago, the application was updated to recommend movies based on similarity and popularity and to search for them by directors and actors.

Plex also now works with Rotten Tomatoes, a popular movie review aggregator, and can skip movies by chapter.

Plex is available to download for free after the update, but the free version has many limitations and ads. To access full functionality, it is necessary to pay either a monthly subscription or a one-time payment of 4,99 euros in the iOS application.

Fallout Shelter has new positive and negative characters

An instant hit Fallout Shelter can most simply be described as Sims for Fallout lovers. To keep players interested, Bethesda has prepared an update with several new vicissitudes.

The most useful part of the update is probably the ability to purchase a robot called Mr. Handy, who will help the player with obtaining resources from the surface, organizing the events inside the vault and protecting it from monsters. Mole Rats and Deathclaws were added to these.

Bug fixes and improvements, such as more reliable running of the application when working with large vaults, are also described in the updated language in the list of new features in the update.

Google for iOS brings an always-on 'Ok Google' assistant

Google's main application has moved up a notch in its development, to version 7.0. Its biggest benefit is the "Ok Google" function, which after uttering a given phrase listens to the user's question and answers it as best as possible, anytime and anywhere in the application. This means that if a user is viewing a webpage about William Shakespeare and says "Ok Google, where was he born?", the app should be able to answer that in April 1564 (or January 1561, depending on whether we believe the conspiracy theory about Francis Bacon).

Furthermore, the update expands information about searched locations and adds the ability to copy and paste text anywhere in the application.
