We have been enjoying the full version of the macOS Catalina operating system for some time now. In addition to features like Sidecar or dark mode, macOS Catalina also brings the ability to port iPad apps to the Mac environment, thanks to a tool called Mac Catalyst. This news is gradually used by developers and allows users to use popular applications from iPad also on Mac. One of the eagerly awaited applications of this type was Twitter.

Users have been hoping for the return of Twitter to Mac since June, when Apple officially introduced the Catalyst project. On the day of the official release of the macOS Catalina operating system, Twitter for Mac was not yet available, but a week later, users already got it. The Twitter app for Mac is very similar to the iPad version. Its user interface is practically the same with a few minor modifications for a better display in the macOS environment.

Naturally, Twitter for Mac offers support for dark mode, which it can automatically switch to if the Mac is set to automatically switch between the two modes. Twitter in the Mac version existed in the past for several years, but after a while the application lost support and users were forced to use the web version of their favorite social network on Mac. Twitter has now said that Mac Catalyst has made it much easier for them to create the corresponding Mac app. Twitter for macOS uses the same code base as for iOS. In addition, it also supports certain specifications characteristic of Mac.
