After years of speculation, we're finally getting a glimpse of what Apple is up to in autonomous vehicles. The head of Apple, Tim Cook, revealed that the focus of the Californian company is really about autonomous systems, but he refused to share specific outputs that we can expect in the future.

Apple's car project has been talked about loudly since 2014, when the company internally launched Project Titan, which was supposed to deal with the development of autonomous vehicles and related technologies. However, nobody from Apple has ever confirmed anything publicly, until now Bloomberg TV it was partially revealed what was going on by Tim Cook himself.

"We are focusing on autonomous systems. It's a core technology that we think is very important," said Apple's executive director. "We kind of see it as the mother of all AI projects," added Cook, whose company is beginning to penetrate the field of artificial intelligence more and more significantly.

"It's probably one of the most complex AI projects you can work on today," Cook added, adding that he sees huge room for major change in this area, which he says is coming at the same time in three interconnected areas: self-driving technology, electric vehicles and shared rides.

Tim Cook made no secret of the fact that it is a "wonderful experience" when you don't have to stop to fill up with fuel, either gasoline or gas, but he refused to specify in any way what exactly Apple intends to do with autonomous systems. "We'll see where it takes us. We're not saying what we're going to do from a product standpoint,” Cook said.

Although the head of Apple did not reveal anything concrete, for example, analyst Neil Cybart is clear after his latest interview: “Cook won't say it, but I will. Apple is working on core technologies for self-driving cars because they want their own self-driving car.”
