During yesterday's announcement of financial results, Tim Cook provided the public with an insight into the sales of individual iPhone models. He particularly highlighted the latest iPhone X, which he declared to be the most popular iPhone for the entire quarter. Cook explained that revenue from iPhone sales grew by 20% year over year. He also said that there was a significant expansion in the base of active Apple smartphones, thanks to "people switching to iPhone, first-time smartphone buyers and existing customers".

Despite estimates and surveys previously suggesting the iPhone 8 Plus was the best-selling model for the quarter, Cook confirmed yesterday that the high-end iPhone X was the most popular among customers. "iPhone had a really strong quarter," Cook said at conference. “Revenue grew by twenty percent year-over-year and the active device base multiplied by double digits. (…) iPhone X once again became the most popular iPhone for the entire quarter," he added. During yesterday's conference, Apple CFO Luca Maestri also spoke, stating that customer satisfaction across all iPhone models reached 96%.

“The most recent survey conducted by 451 Research among consumers in the United States showed that customer satisfaction across all models is 96%. If we combined only the iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X, it would be 98%. Among business customers planning to purchase smartphones in the September quarter, 81% plan to purchase an iPhone,” said Maestri.
