Filip Brož The Apple Watch has been on sale for several months, during which time a whole range of accessories of all kinds have appeared. Most often, of course, various straps are produced as alternatives to the original ones from Apple or protective films and covers. But for many, stands have also become an important element when using the Watch. Moreover, there are still not too many of them on the market, and it is even worse in the Czech Republic.
While abroad you can usually choose from a fairly decent range, in the Czech Republic you can't get many stands in which the Apple Watch could sit. The exception is the domestic company Thorn, which manufactures its own stand, traditionally made of high-quality wood.
The dark walnut stand from Thorn is very simple. After equipping it, you place it on the table, insert the charging cable (not included in the package) into the milled groove and you are all set. The stand holds the Apple Watch in all positions, including in night mode. Thanks to the magnet on the charging adapter, the watch stays in place and does not even bend when the strap is attached. Sometimes only the charging cable has a tendency to fall out, which deserves a better grip.
I put my Apple Watch in the Thorn Stand every evening and leave it there to charge all night. I've never had them fall from the stand onto the floor. Even when I turn off the alarm in the morning, it holds the watch firmly on the stand. This is also helped by the very sturdy base, which is made of steel. Thanks to this, the entire Thorn Stand weighs a quarter of a kilogram, so you can't just knock it over.
The added value of the Thorn Stand is in the manual craftsmanship that takes place in the Czech Republic and the wood, which is painted with natural oil and then waxed. This gives the product both originality and, thanks to it, the Thorn Stand can become a decoration of any table. Of course, a larger or smaller version of the Apple Watch can be placed in the stand.
You can purchase the Thorn Stand for 990 crowns. I really liked the stand, although it still has its quirks like the cable grip is worse and the mag arm could be angled even more to make the Watch easier to control, but they are always working on their products at Thorn so that's what we can expect in the future improvement in these directions as well. This is also an advantage of control over all steps of the production process.
Those who prefer wood should definitely not miss the Thorn Stand, because it looks better than many plastic or aluminum stands. Moreover, there are still very few of them on sale in the Czech Republic.

I would rather guess that this is exactly how Apple intends it - it will only make the most fancy (albeit basic) accessories and leave the rest to the business for others - that's why Apple is so fussy, since many companies are involved and the customer has such a choice as in no other brands :)
But this stand is ugly (sorry). The way the cable comes out of it right at the top because of the thicker tube is really unsightly. That's exactly why I don't have one - I can't choose :))
No, I think they would like to see it live, take it in their hands. In the manufacturer's photos, the cable is much more carefully adjusted and it looks good there. Only I would probably like a different color design.
is it supposed to be some kind of recession or is it really a sold product? Someone took a piece of driftwood out of the trash can and cut an arc with a saw. if it were 99 CZK, I would say OK, a product from a protected workshop, donate to those affected. Alternatively, the children made the education in the workshop and brought it to their parents. work of one unqualified person for 30 minutes, i.e. 50 Kc, material 5 Kc, the rest of the margin.
for 150 kc I can bother for the interested party, hobby market material (matchbox, steel plate, can of paint)
