The arrival of the redesigned 14″ and 16″ MacBook Pro is already slowly knocking on the door. It should be revealed to the world next Monday, October 18, during the virtual Apple Event. The arrival of this device has been talked about in apple circles practically since the beginning of this year. There is nothing to be surprised about. The novelty should offer a new Apple Silicon chip labeled M1X, a completely new design and a significantly better display. At the same time, a respected analyst from Wedbush, Daniel Ives, also commented on the Mac, according to his prediction that the device will be a huge success.

MacBook Pro changes

But let's briefly review what new features the MacBook Pro actually comes with. As we already indicated above, the main highlight of the device will undoubtedly be the new chip labeled M1X. It should offer a drastic increase in performance, which will be taken care of by a 10-core CPU (made up of 8 powerful and 2 economical cores, while the M1 chip offered "only" 4 powerful and 4 economical cores), a 16/32-core GPU and up to 32 GB of fast operating memory. We cover this topic in more detail in the M1X article attached above.

Another significant change will be the new design, which conceptually approaches, for example, the 24″ iMac or iPad Pro. So the arrival of sharper edges awaits us. The new body will bring with it one more interesting thing. In this regard, we are talking about the expected return of some ports, while the most common talk is the arrival of HDMI, an SD card reader and a magnetic MagSafe connector for powering laptops. To make matters worse in this regard, we can also expect the removal of the Touch Bar, which will be replaced by classic function keys. It will also pleasantly improve the display. For some time now, reports have been circulating on the Internet about the implementation of a mini-LED screen, which is also used by the 12,9″ iPad Pro, for example. In addition, there is also speculation about the use of a panel with a refresh rate of up to 120Hz.

Expected demand

As we mentioned above, the redesigned MacBook Pro is expected to be in slightly greater demand. The analyst Daniel Ives himself mentioned that roughly 30% of current users of this laptop will switch to a newer model within one year, with the chip being the main motivation. The performance should even shift to such an extent that, for example, in terms of graphics performance, the MacBook Pro with M1X will be able to compete with the Nvidia RTX 3070 graphics card.

Alongside the new generation of MacBook Pro, Apple could also present the long-awaited ones 3rd generation AirPods. However, how it will look in the final is understandably unclear for now. Fortunately, we will know more information soon.
