2019 was the year of the first flexible phones. This year, more companies are getting involved, and thanks to that we can also see a rather unconventional design. The Chinese company TCL has now presented two prototypes, thanks to which we have a glimpse into the future. The first phone bends straight in two places, the second has a rollable display.

Imagine having an iPhone 11 Pro Max that you can unfold into iPad. That's how you can describe the new prototype from TCL. When folded, the display has a size of 6,65 inches, but it can be unfolded on two sides. The resulting display size is 10 inches, and it is an AMOLED panel with 3K resolution. The display protection is also well solved, when folded, two parts are hidden. Of course, this method of bending also has its disadvantages. The thickness of the phone is 2,4 centimeters.

The second prototype presented has no problems with the thickness. This is not exactly a flexible phone, but a flexible display is used. The basic display size is 6,75 inches, again it is an AMOLED panel. There are motors inside the phone that drive the display. In the end, the phone's display can be enlarged to 7,8 inches. If you can't imagine it, we recommend the video below, which also shows the place where the display will be hidden.

Availability and pricing of the phones have not been revealed. After all, these are currently prototypes that show how phones may look in the near future. There is no doubt that flexible phones are the next technological leap, and Apple will introduce a similar device. Given how the company from Cupertino approaches technological innovations in recent years, we will have to wait a few more years for Apple's flexible phone.
