Among other things, the iOS operating system is known for its strict closure, cleanliness and simplicity. For the user, such a philosophy may be an advantage, but Apple's approach also means that the system has little customizability and the user cannot make the phone easier with any optional shortcuts. You won't get any widgets or other quick action buttons on your iPhone's display.
However, the absence of these controls can be partially compensated for using special applications. One of them is called Tact, and thanks to it, the user can create icons on the desktop for immediate phone calls, writing SMS messages or e-mails to a specific contact.
The principle of the application is quite simple. Immediately after starting it, you will see a list of your contacts and you just have to choose which of them you want to assign the appropriate action to. After that, you will get to the action setting itself. First, you choose its type, depending on whether you want to call the relevant contact when you press the icon on the desktop, write an SMS to them, write an e-mail to them or just display their business card in the address book.
Furthermore, you can choose any image from the gallery for the icon, while the default is the one you have in the system directory for the contact. Another option is icon style. The picture of the contact can be placed in different frames of different shapes and colors. The last optional parameter is the description of the icon, which can really be set as desired, but the longer text is of course shortened so that it does not exceed the width of the bottom edge of the icon.
If you have everything set up to your liking, you can now press the button Create Action. The application then redirects you to Safari and creates a special URL that prepares the given action. After that, it is enough to put this URL on the desktop as a bookmark. This is what Safari, its share button and option will do On desktop.
The created icons work reliably and can really save some time. Making a phone call or starting a written conversation is really just a matter of one press. Although the application takes about 2 seconds to process and carry out the action, the process is still very fast as a result. To its credit, the Tact application also has a very modern and attractive user interface.
Perhaps it's a shame that the application doesn't have an iPad version, because iPad owners would certainly benefit from writing an e-mail or iMessage quickly. On the other hand, it is not a problem to run the iPhone version on a tablet, because you will not use Tact as such practically most of the time, but you will create icons on the desktop and on the iPad. If you are interested in Tact, it is available for download in the App Store for a relatively friendly price of 1,79 euros.

An excellent idea! :)
It looks good. :-) Maybe it's just a shame that there isn't an opportunity to try it for free, to see if you would use it.
Hello, it just occurred to me, I go to your website regularly and I am a fan of Apple, especially the iPhone... I currently own a 5S, and I would like to improve it, simplify it, or I don't know, give it another application that would be worth it... Would you like Can you editors share with us your screens from your devices? Maybe we could use some applications that we don't know about and you use them... After all, you probably know more and have more knowledge... See this app ;)
Thanks for the reply ;)
We have been thinking about something similar for a long time. We will try to come up with the most interesting concept for such an article and give you some recommendations in the near future. Inspiration can also be found on Twitter, which is very popular among iPhone users and where everyone (including our editors) shares their tips through this network.
I personally think that it would be more suitable here than on Twitter, after all, you are at home here ;) So
On the other hand, Android has been able to do this for a long time... And for free!
Redundancy… It just clutters up the desktop… What's the problem with tapping on the phone and having 6-10 most important contacts in your favorites???
I don't know, I think it's fast and cool, if I have the most frequent contacts selected in my favorites, tap on the phone - favorites - and a specific person and it's already dialed, it doesn't take more than 2 seconds either..., I'd rather have the possibility of such access to turning on / off 3G, or other things in the settings....
launch solves this for me, so that I don't screw up my desktop. . .
