Filip Brož If someone had told me ten years ago that I would be able to use my phone to change the intensity and color of a light bulb, I would probably have tapped my forehead and considered it hard science fiction. However, time has moved on and today nothing is impossible. Try to imagine a situation where you come home and want to watch a movie and create an intimate atmosphere at the same time. You take the iPhone in your hand and use it above your head to change the color of the light from classic yellow to red. Thanks to the Tabu Lumen TL800 smart light bulb, it's now a matter of course.
After unpacking the Tabu Lumen TL800, you are holding a classic light bulb in your hand, which at first glance is no different from the ones you probably have all over your apartment at home. I replaced the smart bulb with one of those and tried to turn it on. The light bulb lit up as usual. To fully use Tabu Lumen, you need to download the app from the App Store Lumen, which is free.
The bulb communicates with the iPhone via Bluetooth technology. After launching the app, you can immediately see the light bulb with Bluetooth turned on and you can pair it. Then you can start playing with the new smart light bulb.
The first option to choose from is the color spectrum, i.e. the option where you choose the color of the light of the smart bulb yourself. All colors and shades are represented on the color wheel, you can freely choose between them and you will immediately see the response. Very effective and simple.
On the other hand, I must mention right away that, in my opinion, the bulb has a low luminosity. Although the colors are very intense and sharp, they are far from lighting up the entire room. For this purpose, it is necessary to have more smart bulbs. Tabu Lumen bulbs are ready for this as well. If you have more of these bulbs, you can comfortably control and regulate them all from one device.
The Tabu Lumen TL800 also has several lighting modes that you can choose from. Two of them are the so-called party mode, in which the light changes colors and at the same time flashes quickly like at a disco - in short, suitable for a home party or celebration. Other options are relaxation or romantic mode. In this setting, the color of the light changes again automatically in various pleasant and intimate tones. Especially suitable for a homely atmosphere with a nice movie and a glass of wine or as a rest after hard work.
The Tabu Lumen TL800 smart bulb can also work with your music library. When you start the Music mode, the light and intensity is generated according to the music that is playing. Again, very effective when you want to impress someone. In the modes, there is also a setting for incoming calls, where the color of the light bulb changes when someone is calling you. In the same way, you can set the light as an alarm clock, when the pleasant light that simulates the sunrise will automatically turn on when the alarm clock rings. The last option is to automatically turn on the bulb when you enter the room, i.e. the moment the bulb detects the iPhone.
In addition to the color spectrum, the Tabu Lumen TL800 also offers classic white light, which you can again regulate as you wish. There is also an intensity setting and a lot of other user conveniences. You can easily adjust every light bulb in the apartment as needed. So, for example, relaxation mode will be selected in the living room, and classic light will be on in the kitchen.
The Tabu Lumen TL800 smart light bulb is very efficient and effective and will surely impress every visitor to your home and want to try it. On the other hand, it has a low luminosity for my taste, and it would be useful to add a few more lumens in the future. If you own more than one, there is nothing to worry about. Group lighting will be absolutely sufficient.
What I appreciated about the bulb was its quick installation and virtually zero setup. Bluetooth technology is suitable and stable for home use, so I had no problem controlling the bulb from across the room. Likewise, there are more than a lot of functions and settings and there is definitely something to choose from. Buy the Tabu Lumen TL800 bulb for 1 crowns, which in the end – for what it offers – may not be that much. In addition, Tabu Lumen can become an ideal gift under the tree for all technology enthusiasts.

… bad, bad,… Only some “Lumen” can buy this. Directly on the apple website in the "accessories - connected home" section, you can buy a proven brand - philips hue - for the same price. It's absolute bullshit to "fuck" (sorry) with some "bluetooth" when it's already a bridge invented by Philips that plugs into a switch/router, and then you can manipulate those bulbs not only within wifi, but also outside the home ,... I'm not talking about the incomparable support, the selection of socket types,... Only the software available on the app store,... I've had three at home for almost two years, they hold and run every day.
Philips Hue is an excellent product, but its disadvantage is precisely the high initial investment. You can actively use Tabu Lumen with just one light bulb, i.e. at a third of the cost of the basic Philips Hue set. Tabu Lumen products are for E14 and E27 threads.
I bought a Lumen and it's great compared to Philips, which is only sold in a pack of 3 and costs 5000, plus it takes up the wifi slot... at all!! I bought this file as a joke and especially so that I don't have to get out of bed when I want to go out in the evening, it's a blast! And if Philips can be controlled even when you're not at home, that's nice, but I usually turn it off when I leave)
