When Apple a month ago at WWDC he announced at the premiere of iOS 12 support for the integration of third-party maps in CarPlay, quite a few users rejoiced. The company only offered Apple Maps in its system for cars. Support for third-party navigation apps is thus more than welcome, and it seems that Sygic, one of the most popular offline map apps for iOS, will not miss this opportunity either.

Although Apple promised the integration of Google Maps and Waze into CarPlay during the presentation, other developers are not left behind. Connectivity with the system is now official confirmed and Sygic, as the first ever application for offline navigation. After all, this is not the first time that Sygic has taken the lead. This Slovakian company based in Bratislava was the first to release navigation for the iPhone.

An important insight remains that Sygic 3D maps for CarPlay will be available offline, which will certainly be welcomed by many users. We can also count on all important functions such as predictive routing, traffic density indicators and the highest permitted speed on the current section.

Sygic will announce more details about CarPlay support in its app in the coming weeks. The update should then be released in the fall, probably sometime after the release of the final version of iOS 12.
