The battle between Apple Music and Spotify continues for the benefit of all users, and the latter music streaming service presented the latest news this week. Spotify offers another automatically compiled Daily Mix playlist, which this time presents you with your favorite music.
After the success of Discover Weekly a Release radar Spotify has created another playlist generated by smart algorithms, which is called Daily Mix and will work in the opposite way from the two mentioned above. Instead of new music, it will try to present you with your most popular songs.
Users receive between one and six Daily Mixes each day, depending on how often and how much music they listen to. Spotify will update these playlists every 24 hours to best suit the listener's tastes, but often these may only be minor changes and replacements.
Daily Mix is supposed to offer the user practically endless listening to the most popular music from all the artists he has ever played on Spotify, so there is often no need to compile such playlists with his favorite songs. This is the answer from Spotify to the new "For You" tab in Apple Music, which works similarly.
For now, users can only find the Daily Mix on iOS and Android, Spotify will soon expand it to other platforms.
Apple has a lot of catching up to do in this, playlists in apple music are not worth much. (I've been using it since the show)
For example, I can't complain about playlists on AM, in the vast majority of cases I like them. I download new recommended ones every day and I've only come across a bad one once :)
So these great gadgets are one of the reasons why I left Apple music. Spotify is simply for discovering new music and now also for a mix of popular music, far ahead of apple music. And if you don't listen to the mainstream, the distance only increases.
I also think that the integration of iMusic into the iTunes store is completely wrong. The whole thing makes an already confusing situation even more confusing.
The music selection is also quite decent and you can find smaller artists (CZ, USA, UK, FR) there too.
Exactly, I totally agree with you. I left Apple Music because of this too. Regardless of the quality of the stream and other goodies that I appreciate in Spotify. For example, a crossfade or an equalizer, which AM simply does not have...
finally, I missed this on spotify. I've been trying it since morning and it works great. In addition to the radio, I now finally have the option to like and dislike songs.
That sounds great. But either I'm looking wrong or I can't find the Daily Mix.. Do I need to update the app or do something specific? Or where, in which section do you have Daily Mix?
So far, it only works on iOS and Android. It will arrive on desktop later. However, it is possible that Spotify will launch it a little later for some users. Or if you are new to Spotify, you need to wait at least 14 days for Spotify Daily Mix to compile.
I also don't understand that it's not about one line for all platforms.
I came up with a good trick. Play it on your mobile, choose what to play and then move to the desktop and it will stay in the queue :-D.
