Press Release: QNAP® Systems, Inc., a leading innovator in computing, networking and storage solutions, today announced that QNAP NAS devices now support CAYIN MediaSign Player. MediaSign Player is a product of CAYIN® Technology, a strategic partner of QNAP, enhances the multimedia capabilities of QNAP NAS and can be downloaded from QTS App Center. Licenses for MediaSign Player can be purchased at QNAP Software Store with the goal of adding support for HEIF/HEVC file formats and video transcoding.

HEIF/HEVC formats are the current frequently used image and video formats in mobile devices and have better compression than the standard JPEG and H.264 formats. QNAP users can upload their mobile photos/videos in HEIF/HEVC formats to the NAS device, view them or transcode HEVC files to MP4 (H.264) and directly play them with CAYIN MediaSign Player Plus license plan. QNAP NAS also offers a variety of other multimedia applications (including Video Station, File Station and QuMagie) for viewing photos, music and videos.

Availability

QNAP users can download MediaSign Player from QTS App Center. The Basic license plan is available for free during the promotional period, and users can purchase the Plus license plan to add support for HEIF/HEVC (H.265) file formats.

CAYIN MediaSign Player currently only supports playing MP4 (H.264) videos. Click here to learn how to set up and use CAYIN MediaSign Player.
