Press Release: QNAP®, Inc. presented a wide range of its smart retail and office products and solutions at CES 2020 in Las Vegas. These include surveillance solutions QVRPro, a smart face recognition solution QVR Face and the QVR Retail Pro intelligent customer movement analytics platform to help retailers get on the digital transformation journey. Next, we could see a smart video conferencing tool KoiMeter, which integrates AI and makes it possible to build a high-quality and economical wireless video conferencing system for businesses. In addition, QNAP provides industry-leading network solutions that help accelerate infrastructure deployment and centralize cloud management in smart retail and smart office.

Solutions for smart retail

In the era of AI, the customer experience in the retail sphere is absolutely essential. QNAP quickly recognized this important IT trend and began to deliver a series of comprehensive solutions for smart retail, from retail spaces to customer recognition. QVR Pro can establish a large network for retail store surveillance. When theft or suspicious activities occur, QVR Pro Motion Search can search to identify the face of suspects within 10 minutes for 12 hours of playback video, which effectively increases the security of the premises. QVR Pro also includes a SIP broadcast system for information delivery including promotional ads, announcements and in-store emergency alerts. Meanwhile, QVR Face can set VIP users, unregistered faces, blacklists, and build intelligent door access systems to manage employee attendance. In addition, QVR Face integrates facial recognition into CAYIN's intelligent digital display device, which can provide tailored promotional information and bring more business opportunities to retail stores. QVR Retail Pro integrates flow statistics, in-store analytics, and heat map data to optimize sales strategy and retail display performance. QVR Pro, QVR Face and QVR Retail Pro can be used together to improve the overall customer experience and increase customer visits and actual sales in retail stores.

A solution for a smart office

The QNAP KoiMeeter smart video conferencing solution offers a wireless presentation feature that enables screen sharing without additional wireless projectors. The solution uses a Jabra speakerphone with noise canceling support and a 180-degree camera. Thanks to this, the communication during the meeting is much clearer. The KoiMeeter system also provides AI-based real-time audio transcription and translation to help overcome language barriers in international meetings. When holding multi-party video conferences, businesses can fine-tune network bandwidth with QNAP QuWAN, which implements QoS (Quality of Service) to ensure a smooth meeting environment. KoiMeeter also integrates Avaya® and Polycom® video conferencing systems and will also incorporate other cloud meeting solutions in the future to create flexible enterprise video conferencing environments.

Features known as AI audio transcription and real-time translation and Polycom will be available in the first quarter of 2020.

Smart network infrastructure solutions

To deploy a reliable and secure network infrastructure for smart retail and offices, QNAP provides a comprehensive network solution integrated into the software and hardware itself. The Guardian Edge PoE smart switch series complies with the latest IEEE 802.3bt PoE++ standard and offers up to 370W for PoE (Power over Ethernet). With integrated Layer 2 (L2) management features with built-in QTS and VM applications, Guardian meets all your needs for IP surveillance, network security, storage expansion and wireless AP management in edge networks. The new model QGD-1602P also has 10G SFP+ optical ports to meet the requirements of ultra-high-speed network and long-distance transmission.

The QuCPE server for edge computing is an integrated network virtualization solution for SMEs using high-performance Intel® Xeon® or AMD processors with system memory up to 32 GB RAM (maximum memory up to 256 GB RAM). The QuCPE series is equipped with multiple 1GbE RJ45 or 10GbE SFP+ physical ports and supports network expansion up to 25GB. The QuCPE series, which uses Intel Data Plane Development Kit (DPDK) technology and Smart NIC Single Root I/O Virtualization (SR-IOV) hardware acceleration technology, provides the high bandwidth and computing power required for QNE operation, VNF and cloud deployment. The QuCPE series is an ideal solution for various network applications that replace traditional expensive and complicated network equipment. QNE is a cloud-centric network virtualization solution coupled with edge computing devices and the provision of feature-rich VNFs (Virtual Network Functions) providing value-added services. QNE combines network, computing and application services and cloud management to meet enterprise network infrastructure deployment requirements. QuWAN is a QNAP SD-WAN solution that provides WAN optimization and stable network traffic for the digital transformation of big data. New models of the QSW-M408 and QSW-M1208 L2 10G managed switches will also be introduced to increase the deployment and efficiency of 10G network management.
