The demand for iPhones increases year by year, and in addition to Apple, which has to increase production requirements based on this, it also affects the suppliers and subcontractors of individual components. Thanks to this constant increase in interest in iPhones, the LG company was forced to build a new production hall, in which photo modules for future iPhones will be produced from the end of this year.

The new factory hall, which was completed a few days ago, was built by the LG company in Vietnam. The factory will focus purely on the production of modules for iPhone cameras, both classic single-lens and dual ones. According to information from South Korean information servers, LG has an agreed contract until at least 2019. Until then, it will be the exclusive supplier of these components to Apple.

The construction of a new factory was a logical step given the increasingly high demands that Apple places on itself. Currently, the production of camera modules is taking place in the original factory, which produces exclusively for Apple and is still almost 24 hours a day. The construction of the new complex will thus expand the possibilities and capacities that LG will be able to offer to Apple. Choosing Vietnam is also a logical step given the cost of labor here, which is significantly lower than what the company pays in South Korea. LG plans to start production in the new hall by the end of this year, with roughly one hundred thousand manufactured modules per day expected to leave the factory by this time.
