If you use the services of the Tinder app, you may be pleased to know that it tries to fight against fake profiles. On the other hand, you may not like the fact that it is done immediately by sending personal documents. If you want to participate in this year's Adobe MAX, you can, and it's completely free. All you have to do is register.

Tinder will ask for your ID

Popular dating app Tinder has announced that the new “ID Verification” feature will soon be available to all users of the title worldwide. Of course, as the name suggests, this option will allow users to ensure that their profile is authentic. But whether they really want it is another matter. As the magazine noted Gizmodo, the ID verification itself has already been tested within the app in Japan since 2019. So now it will be rolled out globally.

Once the option is available, users will be able to use a government-issued document to prove their identity, according to the official wording. This is, of course, a passport, citizen's or driver's license. In his post on blog however, Tinder states that verification will be optional to begin with. However, "from the beginning" does not mean that it will no longer be mandatory over time.

Tinder also states that ID verification will be a privacy-friendly process. That's nice, but it no longer provides any details about how the company will manage user-submitted documents in terms of not only privacy but also security. Of course, the purpose of identity verification is to make the app safer for its users, as it is quite common to find fake profiles here. On the other hand, do you really want to give such personal information to such an app?

AdobeMAX 2021

Adobe holds an annual event called Adobe MAX to highlight new releases of the company's software for design and advertising professionals. Adobe MAX is usually an in-person event, but like last year, this year's will be all-digital. The event will take place from Tuesday 26 October to Thursday 28 October. If you want to participate, you can, and it's completely free. You just need to register on the Adobe website. The entire event should include more than 400 sessions, presentations of new solutions, the so-called MAX Sneaks labs and, of course, workshops, interviews with creative personalities, product experts, speakers and others.
