The launch of one big game title for iOS with a Czech background is planned for November this year. This is a 3D soccer game Soccerinho, about which Dagmar Šumská, director of Digital life productions, told us some details.

How does a woman like you get into such an industry, to such a project?

I'll admit it by mistake (laughs). I lived abroad for many years, specifically in Latin America. After returning to the Czech Republic, I wanted to focus more on marketing. During one project, however, I met very interesting people who were seriously toying with the idea of creating a game for mobile phones. At first I resisted and resisted it, but in the end I gave in and I don't regret it at all. It's a big challenge.

Why a 3D football game?

When I started it, I wanted to work on something close to me, something I like. In Latin America, football is perhaps more than a religion, and it is not difficult to fall for it. At the beginning of the project, I set myself one goal - the game must mainly entertain players and be original. I also wanted to connect the game as much as possible with reality and street emotions. To do something that will inspire you after playing it and make you want to go out and play it with your real michuda.

You're right that I was really drawn into the game during testing…

So I'm happy! We've been working on it for two years. I was very lucky to have a team of professionals without whom I cannot imagine the work at all. We are all perfectionists and want to make a really top-notch game without any compromises.

The launch trailer also looks interesting, mysterious.

Soccerinho is actually the story of a poor eight-year-old boy from Josefov, Prague in 1909, who finds a leather balloon in Čertovka and goes on various adventures with it. The trailer and the game as a whole should evoke the fact that in order to become a legend, you need to have a dream, a passion, a little luck at the beginning of the journey, but that after that it's just about hard work, patience and a strong will. The game is such a combination of football games, street and music. I am glad that I agreed on cooperation with the Slovak rapper Majek Spirit. His music fits our project perfectly. It's just that the street either creates you or, unfortunately, destroys you.

However, the game itself is still largely unknown. Can you tell our readers any details?

Perhaps the only thing so far is that the engine driving the game in 3D and with maximum graphics and technology options is Unity Pro, including other commercial add-ons and modifications. There are nearly 10 software tools for creation, from 3D modeling to additional C script programming. The game is from the player's perspective and is extremely diverse and creative compared to industry standards. There are 10 mini-games such as football/shooting range, football/penalties, football/golf, football/basket... just a lot of obstacles and challenges like in normal life and dozens of progression levels with a very interesting denouement of the whole story. I will also reveal that it is not the first and at the same time the last part. The whole thing is planned as a trilogy, with the two coming out during 2014 and being from North and South America.

And when will the number one - Soccerinho Prague 1909 - be released in the App Store?

I firmly believe that at the beginning of November this year. We're really just tweaking the little things. Not only the new iOS 7 operating system and compatibility with new iPhones, but also our extensiveness of the game, with which we want to use every last bit of the phone's hardware performance to achieve maximum authenticity and realism of the game system, have held us back a little.

Thanks for the interview.
