Apple picker SKI magazine, a popular magazine not only about skiing, after the B2B monthly Retail Info Plus (www.retailinfo.cz) became the second Czech periodical to use the iFlipViewer platform for its iPad version.
For more than a year, its readers have had the opportunity to purchase the magazine, in addition to paper, in an electronic online version for common desktop systems (Windows, Mac, Linux) in FlipViewer Xpress, and they make ample use of this opportunity. Now, in cooperation with the publisher of the magazine, SKI Press, spol. s ro, we bring their favorite magazine to the increasingly popular iPad as well, which allows them to have the magazine at hand practically at any time.
All readers of the magazine currently have the opportunity directly on the magazine's website (www.skimagazin.cz) to purchase individual issues or a year-long subscription in electronic form, or also get a year-long subscription in a combination of printed and electronic versions. As part of the electronic edition, they automatically get a version for iPad and for desktop OS, so they can choose the device on which they want to view the magazine, completely freely and at no additional cost. Additionally, both versions share the same web link in the release's Internet Archive, so it only matters from which environment they open the link.
The iFlipViewer application, which is used to view the iPad version of not only this, but also other magazines and publications, stores the publications directly on the iPad, and for viewing the magazine, after downloading it, an Internet connection is no longer necessary, although of course it is due to the built-in web browser, which is used to opening web links located in individual publications is an advantage. The integrated web browser can be used not only to open regular web pages without leaving the application environment, but it can also play video or display images and photo galleries or launch online HTML 5 applications - it only depends on the publisher's imagination.
How to get the electronic SKI magazine not only in the iPad version
It's very simple - visit the magazine's website at www.skimagazin.cz, sign up and choose to buy just the current issue (using Premium SMS) or get a subscription and choose a payment method. In the case of online payment methods, the magazine is available to you immediately after completing the payment transaction and you can start reading immediately. If you visit the magazine's website from an iPad, you can of course also download the magazine to it immediately. If you have not previously installed the app from the App Store iFlipViewer, you will be automatically redirected to it first.
An online archive of previous editions is also available to all registered users free of charge, while the entire edition of last year is also available in the iPad version. Older editions are currently only available in the version for FlipViewer Xpress for desktop OS, but it is still an interesting bonus for all readers.
iFlipViewer - the easiest way to publications for iPad
Publications for iFlipViewer, like those for FlipViewer Xpress, are prepared in the conversion application FlipViewer Xpress Creator. The simple and easy-to-use application guides you through the steps of the conversion process within a few minutes, at the end of which there is a folder containing all the necessary files for the selected variant of the publication, or for both, if, as with the SKI magazín or Retail Info Plus magazines, you want to distribute your publications for computers and iPads.
Thanks to an interesting licensing policy, the publishing option for iFlipViewer is also an affordable version of the publishing solution for the iPad. License fees do not amount to tens of thousands or even thousands of euros or dollars, as in the case of many other publishing platforms, so for example a license to publish an unlimited number of publications for one year does not even reach the level of one average salary in the Czech Republic, while licenses for individual publications cost several times less.
Make yourself visible with a personalized application
Of course, we can also offer the option of creating your own personalized application to all publishers who would not like the option of publishing their publications for the generic iFlipViewer application. The personalized application is functionally based on the generic version, and the conversion is performed in the traditional FlipViewer Xpress Creator application. The only limitation concerns the ability to download publications to the application via an external web link from the Internet - this option is not available in the personalized application, and readers can thus obtain all the publisher's publications only through the application's built-in store.
Of course, the publisher can use their own app name and icon for the personalized app. It is also possible to customize the start screen, the graphical form of the user interface and the tab with information and help. If the publisher registers with Apple as a developer, it is then possible to place the application in the App Store under his company.
