A few hours ago, the annual WWDC developer conference, which Apple has been holding every June for many years, ended. In addition to major new versions of its operating systems, the company presented us with a handful of other novelties at this year's WWDC. Let's take a look at the summary of what WWDC 2019 brought.

tvOS 13 – good news for gamers and music lovers

Apple in tvOS 13 operating system support for multiple user accounts. In practice, this means that each member of the household can create their own profile on Apple TV. Switching between individual accounts is very simple. Another new feature is the ability to display the lyrics of the song currently playing on the Apple TV. Players will certainly welcome support for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 DualShock game controllers.

In addition, tvOS 13 has added a handful of new HDR wallpapers in 4K quality with a theme of the marine world.

watchOS 6 – independence from iPhone and summer straps

The watchOS 6 operating system brings, among other things, its own App Store, which users can use directly in the watch environment. An iPhone will no longer be needed to download apps to the Apple Watch. The App Store in watchOS will in many ways be similar to the one we know from the iPhone or Mac.

Apple Watch owners will also be able to enjoy new native applications such as Audio Books, Voice Memos and a calculator that will also offer the option of splitting the bill at a restaurant or bar. Users who use their Apple Watch for sports and fitness will welcome a new feature that allows them to track progress. In turn, users will find an application for monitoring the menstrual cycle useful. Other new features include, for example, hourly notifications.

New dials with various looks have been added this year, as well as a summer edition of straps, including a rainbow one.

iOS 13 - Dark Mode and better privacy

One of the most anticipated innovations in iOS 13 was Dark Mode, which will make working on the iPhone much more pleasant in the dark. iOS 13 will also offer acceleration in many directions, whether it is the Face ID function or turning on the iPhone itself.

In iOS 13, Apple also improved the native keyboard, which can now be used to type by swiping your fingers. In turn, Safari in iOS 13 will offer the ability to quickly customize the text, the Lyrics function has been added to Apple Music, and Notes have been enriched with folders and new functions. The Photos application has received improved sharing and editing options, videos will finally be rotated. In iOS 13, users will also get better Maps with a more detailed view and the possibility of 3D tours.

In the case of applications, users will get better options for controlling location sharing, and the possibility of background tracking notifications will also be added. Another new feature in iOS 13 will be the ability to log in and authorize with Google or Facebook via Face ID or Touch ID, as well as the ability to generate a special email address for cases when you don't want to share your real email with the other party.

Other news include the ability to send iMessages via AirPods or share music from one iPhone to several other iPhones, and Siri will delight us with a better voice.

iPadOS – a completely new operating system

One of the most surprising moments of this year's WWDC was the introduction of the iPadOS operating system. It will bring completely new, improved display options, but also the ability to connect external USB drives, memory cards and import images from digital cameras. Files in iPadOS can now work with compressed files. In iPadOS, the latency of the Apple Pencil will also be reduced, Safari will be more like its desktop version, the keyboard will be slightly smaller and the multitasking capabilities will be improved.

Mac Pro - better, faster, mobile

At this year's WWDC, Apple also introduced a new Mac Pro with a 28-core Intel Xeon processor with the option of expanding up to 1,5TB of RAM. The Mac Pro will be able to boast of a sophisticated cooling system, and Apple has equipped it with eight single and four dual slots.

Perfect graphics are provided by Radeon Pro Vega II, thanks to the modularity of the new Mac Pro, it is possible to use up to two of these cards at once. Another novelty is the Afterburnk hardware accelerator, capable of processing up to 6 billion pixels per second, a 1400W power supply and four fans.

Mac Pro is also characterized by the ability to play up to a thousand audio tracks at once, of course, the ability to smoothly play videos in the highest quality and better performance when editing videos.

macOS 10.15 Catalina – even better options

The arrival of the macOS Catalina operating system also meant the end of iTunes. Three basic media applications will now reside in the Mac – Apple TV with 4K HDR support, Podcasts and Apple Music. Other innovations include the Sidecar function, which allows you to connect the iPad without a cable and even use it as a second monitor.

In macOS Catalina, it will be possible to control your Mac by voice using the Voice Control function, and a brand new application called Find My has also been added, which allows you to find even a turned off Mac. Catalina will also bring the Screen Time feature known from iOS, and some of the native apps have been redesigned.
