Not even by one percent, but still. It now has a fairly strong iPhone 15, when Samsung will try to compete with them with the Galaxy S24 series.
Here's how: The official presentation is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, January 17 at 19:00 p.m. Samsung is even so confident that it will hold its Galaxy Unpacked event in Apple's homeland, i.e. San Jose, California, so how about a stone's throw from Cupertino. According to previous leaks it is then clear what we will see, namely a trio of top smartphones. The iPhone 15 should compete with the Galaxy S24, the iPhone 15 Plus Galaxy S24+ and the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max Galaxy S24 Ultra.

It's supposed to be the best in the Android world
The Galaxy S series is the best that Samsung can do in the field of classic phones. The clear draw is the Ultra model. This year, however, it is supposed to copy several elements from Apple, i.e. a titanium body and a 5x telephoto lens (on the other hand, satellite communication is still not expected and the Qi2 standard is largely unknown). On the other hand, the fact is that the company had to prepare the new chassis for a longer time than since the introduction of the iPhone 15, i.e. September of last year.

But it's more interesting with a telephoto lens. Ultras have two, one classic 3x and for several generations also 10x. The second mentioned should be changed to 5x. However, the question is whether this is due to copying the iPhone 15 Pro Max or Samsung will have another explanation for this. In the eyes of the user, it looks like a clear and rather incomprehensible downgrade.
The S24 and S24+ models will remain aluminum, and not too many innovations are expected from them. It is certain that the Czech market will get its own Samsung chip after a one-year break. So it will be in this duo Exynos 2400, but the Ultra will have Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 from Qualcomm, as if Samsung was afraid that its renewed Exynos would catch up. Historically, it suffered from a lot of overheating and loss of performance. So maybe Samsung managed to debug it for the one-year absence.

Already on the invitation, Samsung is baiting with the name Galaxy AI, which has also already leaked many names of the functions themselves and, in fact, what they should bring. So it should be artificial intelligence right in the device. But the company is probably inspired here by Google's, which it used in the Pixel 8, it's just a fancy name, and a lot of marketing wheels will spin around it. Thus, users will certainly get interesting options photo editing and work with text. What more remains to be seen. Whether it will be something we haven't seen with Google yet is the question. The second is whether we will see something similar in iOS 18, i.e. iPhones 16.

The latest reports say that Galaxy AI will not be exclusive to the S24 series, but will look into older models as well. There is also information that Samsung will provide news 7 years of updates similar to the case with Google's Pixels. If this is indeed the case, Apple will have a problem in this regard. Users praise it precisely for the longevity of iPhones, but it will no longer be only Google but also Samsung that overtakes it.
