When Apple plucked up enough courage and decided to remove the headphone jack from the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus, a huge wave of negative and mocking reactions was triggered. Negative, especially from users who could not accept the change. Mocking then from various competitors who built their marketing campaigns on it in the years to come. Samsung was the loudest, but even its voice has now died down.

Yesterday, Samsung presented its new flagships – the Galaxy Note 10 and Note 10+ models, which no longer have a 3,5 mm jack. After the A8 model (which, however, is not sold in the USA), this is the second product line where Samsung has resorted to this step. The reason is allegedly to save space, costs and also the fact that (according to Samsung) up to 70% of owners of Galaxy S models use wireless headphones.

At the same time, it has not been that long since Samsung took the same step from Apple. The company built part of its marketing campaign for the Galaxy Note 8 on this. For example, it was the "Growing Up" video, see below. However, that was not the only thing. Over the years there have been more (such as the "Ingenious" spot), but they are now gone. Samsung has removed all such videos from its official YouTube channels in recent days.

The videos are still available on some Samsung channels (such as Samsung Malaysia), but this too is likely to be removed in the near future. Samsung is notorious for mocking the potential shortcomings of competing phones (particularly iPhones) in its marketing campaigns. As it turns out, the move that Apple took three years ago is being happily followed by others. Google has removed the 3,5mm connector from this year's generation of Pixels, other manufacturers are doing the same. Now it's Samsung's turn. Who will laugh now?
