At the end of 2020, Mac computers saw a major change, when they significantly improved in terms of hardware. Apple abandoned Intel processors and opted for its own solution called Apple Silicon. For Apple computers, this is a change of larger dimensions, as the new chips also build on a different architecture, which is why it is not exactly a simple process. In any case, we all already know about all the limits, advantages and disadvantages. In short, chips from the Apple family bring more performance and lower power consumption.

In terms of hardware, Macs, especially the basic ones such as the MacBook Air, Mac mini, 13″ MacBook Pro or 24″ iMac, have reached a relatively high level and can easily cope with more demanding tasks. From the point of view of hardware, Apple succeeded in striking directly in the black and thus another interesting opportunity appeared. According to user feedback, Macs are doing more than well, but it's time to focus on the software now and raise it to the level it deserves.

The native software in macOS deserves improvement

For a long time now, user forums have been filled with all kinds of comments and requests in which people beg for software improvements. Let's pour some clear wine - although the hardware has improved tremendously, the software is somehow stuck in the lee and it doesn't look like its improvement should be within reach. As an example, we can cite, for example, the Messages application. It can get stuck relatively quickly and significantly slow down the entire system, which is simply not pleasant. Even Mail, which is still slightly behind its competition, is not doing the best twice. We can't leave out Safari either. For the average user, it is a great and simple browser that boasts a minimalist design, but it still receives complaints and is often referred to as the modern Internet Explorer.

In addition, these three applications are the absolute basis for daily operation on the Mac. It is all the sadder to see the software from the competitor, which even without native support for Apple Silicon was able to function relatively quickly and without major problems. Why native applications can't work so well is therefore a question.

The introduction of new systems is around the corner

On the other hand, it is possible that we will see any improvement relatively soon. Apple is holding the WWDC developer conference in June 2022, where new versions of operating systems are traditionally revealed. It is therefore not surprising that many fans would rather welcome more stability not only of systems, but also of programs rather than useless news. Nobody knows for now whether we will see it. What is certain, however, is that we should know more relatively soon. Are you happy with the native software in macOS, or would you like improvements?
