Sonos belongs in the field of wireless speakers among the best, what you can find on the market. Until now, however, it was necessary to use the official application directly from Sonos to control the entire multiroom system, which had its drawbacks. From October, however, it will finally be possible to use the Spotify application for control as well.
Sonos speakers will be able to be controlled via the Spotify application as part of its Spotify Connect system, in the way that users have been used to - that is, to play all the speakers at once, or even each one separately. The connection will work with both mobile and desktop applications.
Cooperation with Spotify will start already in October. Next year, users will also get the smart assistant Alexa from Amazon, thanks to which it will be possible to conveniently control the entire audio system by voice.
For now, Sonos has only announced cooperation with the mentioned Spotify and Amazon, however, according to its representatives, it is not opposed to such integration into any application, if companies are interested in it. As for Apple Music, since the end of last year is it possible to connect this apple service right into the official Sonos app, but control of the entire system via Apple Music is not yet planned. Then there is the question of how, for example, Google or Tidal will react to Spotify's collaboration with Sonos.
That's a fart solution. It requires official operation with Airplay via Wifi, or at least Airplay and Bluetooth, then users will have everything in the system.
When Airplay in iOS can stream to multiple receivers at the same time, yes. Until then, it would still have to be a pain in the ass when I create zones in Sonos that look like Airplay receivers and the speakers would have to keep sending it to each other.
