If you need to solve the charging problem with your iPhone, you have two options. Either you reach for an original solution that will cost you several thousand crowns (in the case of fast charging), or you reach for a solution of practically the same quality from another company, for example from Swissten. You must have noticed that the newly introduced flagships from Apple, i.e. iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max, now come with an 18W fast charger with Power Delivery technology. Fast charging is practically a must for every new phone these days, and even more so. Everything has to be fast and immediate, and the same applies to the charging time of our phones. We used to charge our phone every three days, now it's every night, and I think that will soon be a thing of the past with fast charging support.

How about fast charging?

There are several types of fast charging in the world. One of the first companies to come up with fast charging is OnePlus and their Dash Charge technology. There is also, for example, USB Power Delivery, Quick Charge from Qualcomm, which we know mainly from Android phones, Adaptive Fast Charge from Samsung and, last but not least, Fast Charge from Apple, which is more or less based on USB Power Delivery.

Apple's Fast Charge has been rolled out to the iPhone 8, 8 Plus and iPhone X, but don't let this information fool you. From my own experience, I can confirm that Fast Charge works in a way even with older models (in my case, the iPhone 6s) and can charge the iPhone faster than the classic 5W adapter that comes with the device - at least up to the first 50%.

Personal experience and testing

I personally had the opportunity to test and compare three chargers together. The first was the classic 5W charger that you get (at least at the moment) with every iPhone. It does not have the Fast Charge function, it is a completely classic and ordinary charger. But now it's time for chargers that support fast charging. In addition to the 5W adapter, I also tested a 29W original Apple adapter supporting Fast Charge and an 18W Power Delivery Swissten adapter.

If we use a classic 5W adapter, we charge the iPhone X to 21% in half an hour. If we decide to use a 29W adapter from Apple or from Swissten, the iPhone X will be charged to 51% in half an hour. I think this data is really convincing and you can see a big difference. Put yourself in the role of needing to charge your iPhone quickly. For example, you come home from somewhere to just charge your phone and take a shower, and then immediately go out into the field. This is not the only case where a fast charger can come in handy. You can see the complete charge chart below.

Why a solution from Swissten?

You might be wondering why there are two fast chargers here - one from Apple and the other from Swissten. I have a very simple answer to that - price. In case you would like to buy an original set from Apple for fast charging, i.e. 29W adapter and USB-C Lightning cable, it would cost you about 2200 crowns. That's quite a lot, don't you think? What if I told you that you can have this entire set several times cheaper from Swissten? You just need to use the 20% discount on the Swissten website to get such a price. You can find the discount code below. Swissten now also has cables available that have the MFi (Made For iPhone) certification. This certification guarantees that the cable will work without a problem on multiple devices, but it is of course more expensive. So you can choose between a classic cable without MFi certification, which is cheaper, and a cable with MFi certification, which is more expensive.

Adapter and cable design and packaging by Swissten

Above we looked at the actual function of these adapters, now let's take a look at how Swissten actually processed their adapter. In contrast, the adapter from Apple is slightly smaller, otherwise it is quite similar in appearance. It is white in color and has Swissten branding on one side. But in this case, the cable is several levels higher. If you are already annoyed by original cables from Apple, which tend to tear and strip insulation, then definitely reach for cables from Swissten. The cables from this company are braided and of high quality, so you don't have to worry about the cable starting to twist or getting damaged during use.

As for the packaging, both the adapter and the cable from Swissten are quite similar. Both boxes are white and carry the Swissten branding together with the advantages of both products. Of course, you have the opportunity to see what you are going through through the small transparent window.

If you are looking for a cheaper option to quickly charge your iPhone, I can definitely recommend the adapter and cable from Swissten. Both the adapter and the cable are very well made for their price and will definitely fulfill their purpose. In the cheapest case, the combination of adapter and cable from Swissten will cost approx. 20 crowns after a 590% discount. However, if you want to be sure and use a cable with MFi certification, it will cost you around 750 crowns. The original solution from Apple in the form of a 29W adapter and cable costs 1750 crowns after discount. Newly, in addition to the classic socket adapter, Swissten also offers a fast charger with Power Delivery support for the car. You can purchase all Power Delivery products using the link below.
