As usual in our reviews, we'll start with the official specifications. The Swissten Sound-X speaker boasts a maximum power of up to 15 W, and the 3 mAh battery guarantees a battery life of up to 1800 hours, which also recharges for the same amount of time. The frequency range is 100 Hz - 18 kHz, Bluetooth 5.2 technology is used for wireless audio transmission. Furthermore, the speaker boasts IPX4-certified water resistance, its dimensions are 11 x 11 x 13,3 centimeters and it weighs 530 grams. I must not forget the connectivity, which is of course primarily wireless, in any case you can also use the headphone jack, together with a Micro SD card (maximum 32 GB) and a USB-A connector for a flash drive. Charging then takes place via the USB-C connector, which is also located on the back. Packing
As with most other Swissten products, the Sound-X speaker is packaged in a traditional white and red box. On its front side, you will find the speaker itself pictured, along with basic information, and on one of the sides, the specifications with a photo of the speaker in action. The back side is practically completely devoted to instructions for use in several languages and information. After opening the box, you just need to pull the Sound-X speaker out of it, together with two half-meter cables, one of which offers a 3,5 mm headphone jack on both sides for wired audio transmission, the other is USB-A - USB-C and serves, of course, to charging. There is also a small booklet in the form of a manual in Czech and English.

Processing
As for the workmanship, I was immediately impressed when I first picked up the Sound-X speaker. Above all, you will be amazed by its surface, which is made of textile material - so it is very similar to the HomePod, which I definitely do not consider a disadvantage, but quite the opposite. The speaker fits perfectly in a modern home, for example right next to the TV, as it looks minimalistic and luxurious. There is a loop in the upper part, thanks to which the speaker can be hung anywhere, which of course is not ideal from the point of view of sound expression, but in some cases it can be useful. On the front of the speaker, in the lower part, there is a small silver label with Swissten branding, at the back, at the bottom, we find a rubber cap under which all the connectors are located, i.e. headphone jack, USB-C, Micro SD card reader and USB-A. The upper side of the speaker is then used for control, you will find a total of 5 buttons here.

Personal experience
In terms of personal experience with the Sound-X speaker, there is nothing to complain about. Everything works as we are used to with speakers and as it should. To connect to the speaker for the first time, you only need to turn it on, which will also automatically switch to pairing mode, so you can immediately find it in the list of Bluetooth devices. Once you connect to the speaker, your iPhone or other device will connect to it automatically. But here can be a problem - if you are connected to the speaker, no one else will be able to connect to it until you disconnect. As mentioned, you will find a total of 5 buttons on the top side. The middle one is used to turn off/on the speaker, there are two buttons for changing the volume, which can be used to skip tracks when held down, and of course there is also a button to pause/start playback. A special feature is the button marked M, which is used to switch to stereo mode if you have two Sound-X speakers available. To connect to stereo mode, just turn on both speakers, and then press the M button twice on one of them, which will automatically connect within a few seconds. Then simply connect via Bluetooth.
Sound
Of course, sound performance is also important with a wireless speaker. It will never be as good as when using a wire transfer, but you can still easily determine whether it is simply good or bad. As for the Sound-X speaker, I have to say that it definitely ranks in the good group, which I evaluate according to other wireless speakers that have already passed through my hands. I tested the sound on different genres of music, and in none of them did the speaker under review have a significant problem, even at the highest volumes. The only thing I could complain about is the slightly weaker bass. As already mentioned, two Swissten Sound-X speakers can be connected, which will enhance the musical experience. In this stereo mode, when the power reaches 30 W, there is practically nothing to complain about, the sound is really very loud, high quality and can be used not only for listening to music, but also for sounding the room while watching a movie. The bass performance is even significantly improved, so if you have the option, I would definitely recommend getting two speakers.

If you are looking for a high-quality speaker that will please you not only with its design, but also with its sound, I can definitely recommend the Swissten Sound-X. Personally, I'm practically thrilled with it, because I probably haven't seen a similar speaker at a similar price level that looks so good and plays well at the same time. I like that these days you can really get such cheap speakers that you can use not only for listening to music at home or outside, but for example also for playing sound while watching a movie or anything else. As I already mentioned, the stereo mode is absolutely great, where you can connect two speakers, which then play the sound together, which deepens the experience.
