MacBooks, especially the newer ones, can be considered portable machine rooms that provide you with the maximum possible performance anytime and anywhere. Thanks to this, you don't only have to work at home or in the office, but also on vacation or on the go - in short and simply, the so-called "on the go". No matter where you take your MacBook or any other notebook or laptop, you should ensure that it is not damaged and at the same time guarantee comfort. Of course, you can use classic bags that fit a MacBook and a few accessories, however, if you sometimes need to carry a larger amount of things, for example a charger with additional cables, along with food and anything else, then you simply have to reach for a backpack.

There are really countless backpacks that you can reach for. Many people bet on completely ordinary backpacks, which provide practically no protection for the products inside, in addition, they may not look very attractive. I have personally been testing a special backpack from the Swissten brand for several long weeks, which is designed not only for carrying a MacBook or laptop, but of course also many other things - and it must be mentioned that a lot of them fit in there. So, after several weeks of testing, I decided to finally write this review, in which we take a closer look at the backpack from Swissten.

Official specification

As usual in our reviews, we will of course start with the official specifications of the backpack, which are absolutely necessary to mention to get the picture. The volume of the backpack is 19 liters and, according to the specifications, it is designed for up to 15.6″ laptops. From my own experience, however, I can immediately mention that a 16″ MacBook fits into it without any problems. So whatever MacBook you have, you won't have a problem. The backpack from Swissten has a really large number of all kinds of pockets and compartments, thanks to which you can organize all the contents very easily - in addition to a laptop, for example a mobile phone, headphones, wallet, payment card, glasses, a bottle of drink and more. However, we will talk more about the pockets in the next part of the review. I must not forget the USB connector that can be connected to inside the backpack in a special pocket powerbanku and charge, for example, an iPhone with the possibility of using it even while charging. There is also a hole for inserting the headphone cable and much more. The price of the backpack is 1 crowns, in any case, with our discount, which you can find at the end of the article, you can get to CZK 1, plus you have free shipping.

Packing

The backpack from Swissten is packed very simply, in a transparent plastic bag. In addition to the backpack, it also includes a cardboard box on which you can learn more about the complete specifications and the use of the so-called oxford fabric, which is intended, among other things, for sports use and is therefore really durable. In addition, however, you will find a code lock in the package, with which you can lock the reviewed backpack and thus minimize the risk of theft of the contents inside. Of course, there is a short instruction, both for the backpack as such and for the lock. You won't find anything else in the package - and in fact, nothing else is needed, what more should we expect. It's definitely nice that the backpack isn't packed in a big box, which would, among other things, make transportation more complicated due to its size.

Processing

I mentioned above that the backpack from Swissten is made of oxford fabric, which is already very durable to the touch, but at the same time pleasant. Let's now take a look at all the pockets and compartments that the backpack has - we can specifically mention eight of them. We'll start at the front, where you'll find a medium-sized pocket at the bottom for storing small items. There is another pocket above, right in front of the main one. Keys, which you can also attach to the ring on a string, pens and other necessary things can easily fit into it, and inside you will find several organizers so that everything does not fly around in this pocket. Right behind it is the main pocket, which can fit everything, be it a snack box, a large drink, school supplies, documents and anything else. It's honestly unbelievable how much can fit into a seemingly average-sized backpack. When traveling between the office and home, I never needed to take another bag, I put everything in my backpack without any problems and could go straight away. Inside this pocket, you will find one larger organizer on the back, where the USB cable for connecting the power bank is routed and there is also an opening for headphones, and two smaller ones in the front. The upper one has a mesh and can be turned on, the lower one is classically "rubber".

Behind the ear of the backpack at the top there is another smaller pocket for personal items and small items. On one side, there is a pocket for storing other small items, and on the other side, an expandable pocket into which you can easily put a larger drink. Due to the fact that this pocket is on rubber, it will ensure that the drink is properly attracted and it will not fall out, as is often the case with other backpacks. We come to the back of the backpack, where of course there is a side pocket for a laptop. The safest pocket is located at the bottom at the back, it has a very unobtrusive fastening and you can put a wallet or anything else in it that you don't want to risk being stolen. In addition, this pocket blocks RFID. The last pocket is located on the left strap of the backpack, into which you can fit, for example, an AirTag or other small items. The back of the backpack is padded in a different way, so you can wear it for a long time in different conditions, and it also has a rubber band to attach it to a suitcase for travel.

Personal experience

As for personal experience, it is more than positive with the reviewed Swissten backpack. Honestly, practically since the end of elementary school, I used a completely ordinary backpack from a sports store for several years, which after that time slowly began to fall apart. For that reason, the Swissten backpack came to me for review at exactly the right moment, because I wanted to buy a backpack, but I didn't know what kind I actually wanted. Practically after the first day of wearing the backpack, I found out that it is the real deal, as it is extremely spacious and offers many pockets with organizers, thanks to which I can organize everything in the backpack beautifully and know where everything is. So far I have only used the lock as a test, in any case, if you will only travel with the backpack between the house and the office and most of the time you will drive it in the car, then of course there is no need to use it. However, if I were to go on a hike or to a big city, I would definitely use the castle. Although it will not ensure that someone will not steal your entire backpack, you are sure that your pocket will not be opened and its contents selected in a crowd, which of course happens on a daily basis.

In addition to my computer, I also carry a snack box in my backpack every day, along with personal items, other products to review, clothes, a tablet, documents, and the like, and so far, I haven't been disappointed once. The zippers are also very well made - they are not the cheapest and softest, on the contrary, they are really very strong and there is no danger that they will "unwind", even if you really stuff the backpack with things. I also have to praise the straps, which are soft and pleasant even for longer carrying of the backpack. In addition, there are "feet" on the bottom of the backpack, which both prevent the backpack from getting dirty when it is placed on the ground, and also ensure that things inside do not get knocked around. Also great is the routed USB cable inside that you can connect to powerbanku. Then just connect the cable to the USB on the right side of the backpack and start charging any device. Honestly, I would love to mention any negatives that this backpack has, but unfortunately (I mean, for God's sake) I just can't find any. The backpack really suits me very well, which is why it has become part of my equipment. For the price of around a thousand crowns, I think it is a much better choice than if you bought a backpack a few hundred cheaper anywhere else.

Conclusion and discount

If you are looking for a perfect and versatile backpack that you could use not only for transporting your MacBook or other laptop, but also for transporting any other equipment or completely different things, then I think you have just come across the right thing. The reviewed backpack from Swissten met all my expectations - it is very well made, so there is no risk of damage, and of course there are eight main pockets with several organizers. I love the attention to detail and the great added value - in short, someone has finally put their head into the development of this backpack, whether it's the lock in the pack to lock the backpack, the USB lead for the power bank to charge your devices, the headphone hole, the feet on the bottom side, a strap at the back to attach to a suitcase and more. From my own experience, after a few weeks of use, I can recommend the Swissten backpack with a cool head.
