Anyone familiar with the AKG brand probably associates its name with professional audio technology. The Austrian company is particularly famous for its microphones and studio headphones and is among the top in its field. In addition to professional technology, AKG nevertheless offers several lines of headphones for ordinary users K845BT they are among the high-end ones offering both excellent processing and, above all, sound at the level of professional studio headphones. It also testifies to that EISA price for the best headphones 2014-2015.

You can recognize the focus on high-end from the first glance by the precise processing. The combination of dark gray metal with black matte plastic looks extremely elegant, overall the headphones have a very robust and solid impression. The robustness lies on the one hand in the wide headband, but especially in the massive earrings. They comfortably cover the entire ear, but most importantly, they contain a 50mm driver, which contributes to good sound dynamics and rich bass.

The headphones are very adaptable. Each side of the arch can be extended in twelve degrees and the earcups can be tilted up to about 50 degrees on the horizontal axis. The arch itself has padding on the underside, so the metal does not press on the head in any way, however, the greatest comfort is ensured by the padding of the earcups and an optimal grip, which does not press in any way and at the same time holds firmly on the head.

On the right earcup you will find the volume control and the play/stop button, which can also be used to answer calls. It's a shame that you can't switch tracks with any combination of button presses. In addition to the controls, you will also find a standard 3,5mm jack and an on/off button. AKG even added an NFC chip to the headphones, but you can't use it even with the iPhone 6/6 Plus, so this is a function exclusively for Android or Windows Phone.

The microUSB connector is used for charging, and the headphones also include a USB panel. You will also get a connecting audio cable.

Sound and experience

I expected studio-level sound from AKG, and the company certainly lived up to its reputation in this regard. The sound is balanced across the entire frequency spectrum with very pleasant bass, good dynamics and crystal clear reproduction. At the same time, the sound is practically identical both with a wired and wireless connection. The only difference is the volume. When passively connected via jack, the maximum volume from the iPhone is relatively low, i.e. insufficient. The volume is adequate via Bluetooth. You probably won't notice the low volume on an iPad or Mac, on an iPhone it's noticeable due to the less powerful audio output.

Due to their dimensions, the K845BT are not the most suitable for sports or traveling, they are best used in domestic conditions, where portability and weight (the weight of the headphones is almost 300 grams) do not play such a role. However, if you take them with you in the noisy environment of city traffic, you will appreciate the excellent noise reduction that the headphones have thanks to the size of the earcups.

Even after several hours of intensive use, I did not notice any pain around the ears, on the contrary, the K845BT are by far the most comfortable headphones I have ever had the opportunity to wear. The range of the headphones is about 12 meters without interruption, but it is already interrupted by the other wall. However, this will not be such a problem for most in normal use.

záver

If you plan to invest around 7 crowns in home headphones, whether for listening to music or for its production, AKG are the ideal candidate in all respects. Elegant design, exceptional workmanship and flawless sound, these are just a few reasons to buy K845BT.

It's hard to find negatives on the headphones. The lack of track switching, lower volume when wired or overall power can be criticized, but these are just little things that are missing AKG K845BT to perfection. I myself had the opportunity to use them during the post-production of the album, and the great dynamics and fidelity of the sound alone are a great argument for quality listening or for professional use.
