Do you remember the first iPhone ad you saw? And which of the Apple smartphone commercials you know stuck in your mind the most? In today's article, we look at how the iPhone has changed over the years through advertising videos.

Hello (2007)

In 2007, an iPhone ad from TBWA/Chiat/Day was broadcast during the Oscars. It was an impressive montage of more or less well-known scenes from movies and series, in which the protagonists simply picked up the phone and said: "Hello!". Apple thus managed to start a series of its advertisements directly with the most famous (and not only) Hollywood faces, including Humphrey Bogart, Audrey Tautou or Steve McQueen.

"There's an app for that" (2009)

The first iPhone didn't offer too many applications, with the arrival of the iPhone 3G this changed significantly. The phrase "There's an app for that" has become a kind of synonym for Apple's mobile products and related philosophy, and is even protected by a registered trademark.

"If you don't have an iPhone..." (2011)

The arrival of the iPhone 4 marked a revolution in many ways. For many users, the "four" was the first step to switch to Apple. The iPhone 4 featured a number of new or improved features, and Apple didn't hesitate to tell users in advertising that without an iPhone, they simply... don't have an iPhone.

"Hey Siri!" (2011–2012)

With the iPhone 4s came a significant improvement in the form of the virtual voice assistant Siri. Apple highlighted its advantages in more than one advertising spot. You can look at a montage of ads for the iPhone 4s, promoting not only Siri.

Strength (2014)

In 2014, an ad for Apple's iPhone 5s called "Strenght" premiered during the Stanley Cup Finals. The commercial featured the 1961 song "Chicken Fat" by Robert Preston, and the spot emphasized the health and fitness features of the new iPhone. "You are stronger than you think," Apple appealed to users at the end of the ad.

Love (2015)

Another significant change in the field of Apple iPhones came in 2015 with the release of the iPhone 6, and not only in terms of design. The spot called "Loved" introduces all the new features of the just-released "six" and emphasizes the relationship that the user develops with his smartphone.

Ridiculously Powerful (2016)

As is customary with Apple, shortly after the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, an improved version called the 6s was released. The new features are probably best summed up by the spot called "Ridiculously Powerful", but the advertisement is also worth mentioning "Onions", highlighting the camera capabilities of the new Apple smartphone.

Stroll (2017)

The year 2017 brought many surprises in the form of the iPhone 7 with the missing port for the classic 3,5 mm headphone jack connector. Another novelty was wireless AirPods headphones. Apple promoted both in an advertising spot called Stroll, highlighting the convenience and new possibilities that the "seven" will bring to music fans, in other Apple spots from

emphasized improved for example camera functions or phone design.

Fly Market (2018)

Apple's iPhone has been on the market for ten years, and Apple launched the iPhone X with the revolutionary Face ID function as part of the significant anniversary. He also appropriately emphasized this in his advertising spot called "Fly Market", a little later commercials were also added "Unlocked", "Portrait Lighting" or "Introducing Face ID".
