PR My name is Martin and I work in a company Hönigsberg & Düvel Datentechnik Czech (hereinafter HuD) in Mladá Boleslav, which offers a wide portfolio of services and solutions in application development, primarily for the iOS operating system. I would like to share with you the details of my development life, so I am answering frequently asked questions.
Does iOS have a future?
He certainly has. In many things, Apple follows a different path than the competition, which in practice means that it often blazes a trail and sets trends in the IT field. That's why I think iOS has a bright future ahead of it. This was also the reason why we started a number of new iOS projects and at the moment we are looking for new partners for the development team. More details can be found at www.hud.cz or our colleagues from the personnel department will tell you (personal@hud.cz).
How does HuD differ from the competition?
It is primarily a family work atmosphere, we simply like each other and spend time together beyond the official summer and Christmas events in the company. We have introduced a subsidy program through which joint activities are subsidized by the company. Thanks to this, we were able to enjoy, for example, a weekend boating or skiing trip, volleyball tournaments, squash or even regular yoga lessons. In the company, we all know each other by name and we meet by the coffee machine in slippers, where more is often resolved than by e-mail.
What applications do you develop in your company?
We are a very versatile bunch. For example, we are currently working on applications enabling remote access to company data via iPhones. In cooperation with the technical development of car manufacturers, we also create applications that enable two-way communication with internal systems in the car - here, for example, we use the unique CarPlay technology. But we also think about the future, our teams do not ignore machine vision or augmented reality.
Which app are you most proud of?
First of all, I probably have to mention the MFA pro application. It was the first on our market to use the SmartLink connection and enable the display of a range of interesting information in real time – for example, instantaneous fuel consumption or speed. The application also collected values from a large number of sensors and control units, so it was possible to monitor, for example, tire pressure, coolant or oil temperature, longitudinal and lateral acceleration or even battery voltage on the mobile phone.
Who are your customers?
Part of our applications is intended for manufacturing companies, currently we mainly have clients from the automotive industry. We have been cooperating with Škoda Auto for a long time, but we also develop applications for Volkswagen or Audi.
Spending my free time together with my work colleagues is my nightmare. I don't know how HuD pays its developers, but I assume that a quality developer doesn't need a subsidy system to go skiing or squash. But if it suits them, then let them have it.
Hi Jendo,
I think you didn't understand the subsidy system. From my point of view, it's not about the fact that the developers/employees don't have a "ski trip", but about something else.
And what is it about, if it is not secret? That I would talk about it by forceful "cohesion of the collective", where mmch. Jenda said in the very first sentence, what do you think? When I have to attend company events, and for those that I don't have to and won't attend (because I simply have a different idea of how to spend my free time, or I want to spend it with other people), I automatically have a sticker and I don't regret it.
And maybe even the biggest optimist who ever worked somewhere doesn't believe that "we just like each other". Regardless of the fact that the modern effort to make a home out of my work and a family out of my co-worker is the worst form of corporate slavery in practice. Unfortunately, one encounters this more and more often, because the peeps in the pseudo position of HR have to defend their existence.
I've been in HuDu for 5 years as a .NET / web developer and I haven't been to events for three years now, no one is forcing me to, I don't have a sticker. And even after five years, I like it here a lot. I hate team-buildings and I haven't been to the last ones either, but it should be mandatory for new employees, it's a good way to get to know each other.
When we want to go somewhere together, the company will pay for it if it makes at least a little sense.
it's like Babis in the backyard
Hi, I've been working at HuDu for 4,5 years (together with the commenter Radek - I greet him at the office :-) in the position of Graphic Designer. HuD is a very specific company precisely in the kind of bonds, friendships and really relaxed, family-like atmosphere that is created here. I consider myself to be a bit antisocial and that's why I quite like "my peace" - this means that I really don't go to all the events that are organized in the company, but that definitely does not mean that I am in any way isolated from the team. The main purpose of the subsidy program is that if a colleague thinks up an event (bicycle trip, barbecue in the garden, volleyball, etc.), he gets a few colleagues who would participate in this event, for example with their family, HuD has a program that co-finances and will cover this event. Personally, I see this program as a great idea, which has caught on really quickly since its inception, and we have a lot of activities that often make it difficult to choose :-) At the same time, if someone simply doesn't want to, they simply don't want to, and for such events it doesn't have to go - see my case many times. Good luck to the Pipers and future Pipers :-)
Hello,
I have been working at HuDu for 10 months as an intern while I finish my university studies. As I am not one of the introverts or antisocial people, I cannot praise the family atmosphere in HuDu. Of course, there is room for personal and professional development, which is exactly what I need. :)
In any case, I am very much looking forward to starting as an employee in June and officially joining the ranks of the HuĎák :D
Hello to all HuĎaks :P
A person does not have to be an antisocial person, on the contrary, it is enough to have a lot of interests and friends that you do not have time for. And then, when there is some free time, I can't/don't want to spend it with people from work, with whom I spend 8 hours a day at the expense of my family and friends, whom I've known since childhood and spend an hour a week with.
If someone forced me into it...they wouldn't:-D
Sure, I understand :) But as was said in other comments, no one is forcing anyone to do anything ;) I also always participate in events that I enjoy and that I have time for. No totality :D
The most honest confession I have ever read.
"Co-workers" is a terrible word. The developer probably didn't write that...
