Before we look at the specific numbers, we should mention one thing. The PC market in general saw a huge boom, with sales across all vendors increasing by an average of 81%. In the case of Apple, it should even be an incredible 94%. According to the published analysis, the Cupertino giant should have sold 5,7 million devices in the first quarter of this year, which represents the aforementioned 94% year-on-year increase. Last year, it was "only" 2,9 million devices sold. This put Apple in fourth place on the list of the most popular computer sellers with a market share of 8,4%. The first row is occupied by Lenovo with a 24% share, closely followed by HP with a 23% share, and the so-called bronze position secured by Dell with a share of 15%.
The company continues to add that there is still room for growth in the market and the sales are definitely not going to stop. The world will soon have to deal with a global shortage of chips, which is expected to increase demand. At the same time, we must point out one thing. Since Apple does not directly share specific numbers in connection with units sold, we should not take the mentioned values with 100% accuracy. Analytical companies only estimate them based on supply chain reports, sales and surveys. Still, no one can deny that Macs really did well this time around.
