Even though the mobile phone market is large when it comes to operating systems, there is not much to choose from. Here we have Google's Android and Apple's iOS. While the latter can only be found in iPhones, Android is used by the rest of the manufacturers, who are still completing it with various add-ons. The situation is thus relatively clear.
You will either have an iPhone with iOS or Samsung, Xiaomi, Sony, Motorola and others with Android. Either clean as Google created it and offers it in its Pixels, or just with some customization. Samsung has, for example, its One UI, which is relatively easy to use, and even extends the system to include other functions that it does not otherwise have. At the same time, it is a very simple determination of the intensity of the lamp, etc.
Many iPhone users who haven't had anything to do with Android, or who switched to iOS back in the days when Android was in its early versions, often swear at it. Thus, this system among apple growers pays for something bad, leaky, complex. But it's not entirely true. The entire portfolio of Samsung Galaxy S22 phones has now passed under my hands and I must say that it is a really successful competition of iPhones.
Is it about price?
But the fate of any competition for iPhones is quite difficult. Unfortunately, Samsung has set the prices of its top-of-the-range line quite high, and in basic configurations it more or less copies Apple's prices. But it clearly leads in the higher ones, because it no longer charges such outrageous extra fees for higher storage. Despite that, there is only the Ultra model, which has potential in its S Pen stylus, which brings something different after all (although we already had that in the Galaxy Note series). But the smaller models are just ordinary smartphones, albeit powerful and high-quality phones, nothing out of the ordinary.
We can talk about how different manufacturers are experimenting with cameras and the optical zoom of telephoto lenses. It's a bit more than the iPhone has, but it's not a killer feature. They generally lag behind in terms of performance. As for the system, I can't say too much against Android 12 with One UI 4.1. On the contrary, Apple could learn more here, especially in the area of multitasking. The system is really good for iPhone owners too. He just has to get used to a few little things. But the problem is that none of the mainstream smartphones offer anything that would actually make me want to leave iPhones and iOS.
Little invention
If we look at the direct and biggest competitor of the iPhone 13 Pro Max in the form of the Galaxy S22 Ultra model, then there is the S Pen, which is nice and will entertain you, but you can still live without it. Looking at the Galaxy S22, which can go head-to-head with the iPhone 6,1 and 13 Pro with its 13-inch display, there's virtually nothing to appeal to - if you own an iPhone.
The problem is the lack of invention. The entire trio of Galaxy S22 phones is great, but so are the four iPhone 13s. If a manufacturer has the ambition to win over iPhone owners, they must come up with something that will convince them. So there are players who try to impress with an affordable price and maximum equipment, but if we look at Samsung's devices, this is not quite the case with the largest mobile phone seller in the world.
There is no need to buy the most expensive models. Samsung is also trying it with the lightweight Galaxy S21 FE, or the lower A or M series, which in many respects take over the functions of the top series, but of course reduce elsewhere. Their prices then hover around the 12 CZK mark (Galaxy S21 FE costs 19 CZK). They are good phones that are trimmed down to fit the price range they are in. But Apple still sells the iPhone 11 here, and that's simply the problem.
A fundamental question
Just ask yourself a simple question: "Why should I switch to Android when I can still buy an iPhone for just CZK 14?" Of course, there is also the SE model, but that is a very restrictive device. So if you can answer the question posed, good for you. Even if the iPhone 11 does not offer OLED, has an older and slower chip and worse cameras, which the current flagship is running away from, it is the iPhone with iOS that I would still prefer even to the current flagship in the field of Android devices - if I decided by price. And I would easily limit myself considering all its shortcomings.
The sad thing is that the Galaxy S22 series in particular is really cool, and if I were a long-time Android user, I wouldn't hesitate. But with the exception of the mentioned S Pen in the Ultra model, there is nothing else in it that she could argue with. So it is relatively clear in the smartphone field. But since I already know Android and know what to expect from it, foldable devices can be the main driver. The new generations of the Galaxy Z Fold and Galaxy Z Flip are due to arrive in the summer. And it is this duo of phones that iPhone owners run to most often. They really bring something different, and the fact that Apple has not yet come up with a similar solution really plays into Samsung's cards.
Everyone has something. Definitely NOT Samsung with their "overpriced" phones. They are bought for the company's employees, so I know what kind of "shit" they are, the price definitely does not match. If Android, then preferably another manufacturer. I can't really rate an Apple device, but when I get it in my hand, it seems like... well... OK - definitely better than Samsung's Android.
Well, if the company has MDM, then definitely iPhone. But if he doesn't want to buy expensive iPhones, but phones for 5-9 thousand, then only Samsungs. Although it will be the A1x, A2x, and maximum A5x series, so nothing much. But again, in the Android world, Samsung leads the way in terms of corporate deployment. No other Android competitor simply has its Knox or Zero touch configuration option.
Well, I don't know, you should try it. I switched from a Samsung Galaxy S20 to an iPhone 13 Pro a few months ago and it's been one problem after another. It seems to me that Apple can't figure out basic things. Let alone the hardware - without a fingerprint reader? Until now, Face ID was unusable in a mask, and the usability after the update is a lot to consider. The eSim has a much worse signal than the SIM in its classic form. So software. Dragging music? :-D :-D :-D Sure, tag everything, upload it to iTunes and then sync it. That you could simply copy the folders, that's not it. Homescreen settings? Everything has to be top-down because Apple forces users to do it that way. Gaps? He can't. Dual sim mode? This is pure hell on Apple's part, and they should rather not have introduced it at all. Everything revolves only around the brand, not so much around the user experience. Simply right, it's the way Apple wants it, not the way the user wants it. Some may be comfortable with having everything lined up, I'll be going back to Samsung soon.
PS: this only applies to the iPhone, I've been using MacBooks for many years and I wouldn't allow Apple to go there. Computers can do much better and it is hard to find competition there.
Crucial question??? Well, probably first of all the fact that the entire Apple ecosystem works together perfectly and Windows and Android will never 🤷🏻♂️
You have no idea how Samsung and Windows work together. It's 2022 and not 2014. At least try to google it if you can't try it anymore.
Because you're smart and not a lagdroid socko-creature.
it can be seen that you know nothing about android. Unfortunately, it's just a sheep that dully repeats the phrases of other sheep.
Crying tough man chimes in and calls others sheep because android is really shit against iOS. It is also written in that article. It's terrible not to have an addition of your own. I have the opportunity to compare both systems. My personal phone is the latest Pro Max and the company Xiaomi 11T Pro. Almost every day something nonsensical pops up on the corporate website, because Google thinks it's probably important. On iOS, you only need to update the application, and you have that on Android as well. I still find iOS simpler and more secure. Well, that's what it's all about, having a more secure phone. And the price? Of course, it's somewhere else every phone, but Apple is sure of min. 6 years of security, whereas android ??? Yes, the latest Samsung gives a guarantee of 4 years. Well, less and less certainty. By that I mean that the price corresponds to it, and when selling, an Apple product is better sold than any android phone. So have a great time intelligently with android.
A few years ago, out of curiosity, I switched to an iPhone from Android, specifically from Samsung. Of course, the rumors about Android getting stuck and bugged are made by people who don't have a lot of experience. In reality, iOS is bugged comparably to Android, and in my experience I have come across many more bugs at first glance in iOS than in Android. And that's already a bug about SMS not being loaded until the app is restarted, shared albums not synchronizing, application freezing, AW disconnection from the iPhone, etc. there's a lot of it, and quite often it seems to me that the Android wasn't so bad at it :)
Well, I don't know, but I just switched from the S21 to the iPhone 13 Pro after a year, and I have to say that Samsung is quite behind. Although One UI has many features, the system is not debugged. The Exynos adds quite a bit to it, as during more demanding tasks, the phone really overheated and you could see a slowdown in animations or loading. Dropframes were the order of the day, and the non-debugged/unreliable camera app also until Android 12, where they fixed it. The flashlight was a disaster compared to the iPhone, and the quality of the application is on a completely different level in the iPhone. Also, haptics and speakers are a weak decoction of what the iPhone has in Samsung. I have to say for myself that Samsung is robbing customers for that money.
Samsung are the best. Android is more open than iOS even without root (for those who can't: the ability to edit system files in android). Also, the latest iOS doesn't have a jailbreak (yet).
I must say that android users will always find and insult iOS just because they can't control it. There is no simpler clean system and therefore other phone manufacturers have to complement it with their accessories.
It's hard to argue when you don't know any functions of that Samsung. For example, DEX mode, with which I can connect wirelessly to a television or a monitor and can work as if on a desktop. Or multitasking two windows side by side.
I'm not even talking about system modifications
Well, exactly
Well, I will wirelessly connect my Apple to the smart TV as well. 🤔
Of course you will connect, but the message from Roll is the DEX from Samsung that they just mentioned, which is not just connecting a mobile device to a Smart TV 😉
Well, I need two slots for SIM cards and a memory stick, I don't want to spew everything on myself, I don't need to use my iPhone like a teenager or a gypsy from the urban ghetto. For a few bucks, I have an S41 that lasts me 3 days on a battery, fulfills the above. I tried the iPhone and meekly reverted to Android…
Is it true that if you lose a phone with a memory card that you lose the data on it?
An article about nothing. IOS and Android are equivalent systems. What was missing from the beginning of Android caught up and overtook iOS, but it was forced to match the functionality of Android. I have used both systems and both are fully usable. The only difference is that if I have a Mac then I will buy an iPhone and use their ecosystem. I myself do not prefer Garmin watches and do not work with MS products, then I will probably switch to Apple products as I get older. The time of youthful trials and testing is long gone, now I only want effective tools and I will partially adapt, especially if it works and I don't have to adjust to it for a long time.
I don't really understand these discussions. If you don't have shares of one company or the other, it doesn't matter. Today (high end) train ships are completely comparable, so the only reason to go for Android is the open system and significantly cheaper accessories. However, for most users, calling, texting and a little internet is enough. And that is the greatest tragedy. Try giving your colleagues or children a task... maybe find an open restaurant or send GPS coordinates or send a large number of photos in original size... Hmm, mostly tragedies.
what did you mean by that task?
I would slightly modify the "fundamental question": Why should I buy a phone for 14,- when a phone for 490 is enough for me? ;)
… because it's not enough for someone else.
When it's enough for you, be happy.
So I have to say that as an Android user I have really tried all brands, from SONY, XIAOMI, OPPO, MOTOROLA, ONEPLUS, etc.
I use Apple products, an iMac and a Macbook Pro, so after a long time I thought I would try an iPhone, I bought an iPhone 13 in blue, I like their model colors at Apple.
When I used the iPhone, I was initially bothered by excessive security everywhere, always having to enter a password somewhere, like sorry, it's really annoying, another problem is when using Messenger from Facebook, it loads the photo like before and then I have to send it again ? Like sorry, android can send it straight away and not do some actions twice unnecessarily, another problem is the speed of the operating system, it's really slow, specifically the animation settings in the system, I can turn it off in android, and the display cut-out is simply nothing new, Apple has unfortunately allowed itself to be skipped in development and other brands are already much further in design, I like the iPhone 2 as a whole, but how can they seriously put a round camera lens instead of a cut-out?
Apple makes a lot of super products and probably the best notebooks, it has been overstepping the mark in development for a mobile phone with a cutout for a long time, because it found that it pays off and sales are still going strong.
I'm curious when the iPhone will finally come with an iPhone with a camera under the display.
Well done.
