Apple iPhones boast relatively solid software equipment. However, this does not mean that they do not have a number of limitations that may pose a problem for some users. If you've ever tried to record your phone calls, you probably already know that such a thing is simply not possible in iOS. Apple blocks their uploading. However, when we look at the competing Android system, we find something interesting. While recording phone calls is a problem on iOS, on Android it is a very common thing that you can solve with the help of various tools.
You might have thought of using the native screen recording feature to record calls. But unfortunately, you won't go far with that either. On this attempt, the screen recording will stop and a pop-up window will appear informing the reason – Failure due to active phone call. So let's shed some light on why Apple doesn't allow you to record phone calls.
Recording phone calls
But first, let's explain what recording phone calls can actually be good for. Probably, each of you has already come across a phone call, at the beginning of which it was said that it could be monitored. This practically informs you about the recording of this particular call. Mostly mobile operators and other companies bet on recording, which can then simply return to information or suggestions, for example. But it works in the same way for an ordinary person. If you have a call in which important information is communicated to you, then it certainly does not hurt to have a recording of it available. Thanks to this, you wouldn't have to miss anything.
Unfortunately, as apple growers, we do not have such an option. But why? First of all, it is necessary to point out that in Apple's homeland, the United States of America, call recording may not be legal everywhere. This varies from state to state. In the Czech Republic, anyone participating in the conversation can record without being notified. There is no major limitation in this regard. But what is key then is the fact how you can deal with the given recording. In most cases, it can be used for personal use, but any sharing or copying of it may be illegal. This is specifically regulated by Civil Act 89/2012 Coll. in § 86 a § 88. However, as many apple users point out, this is probably not the main reason why this option is missing in iOS.
Emphasis on privacy
Apple often presents itself as a company that cares about the security and privacy of its users. This is why apple systems are somewhat closed. In addition, the recording of phone calls can be seen as a certain invasion of the user's privacy. For this reason, Apple blocks apps from accessing the microphone and the native Phone app. It is therefore easier for the Cupertino giant to completely block this option, thus protecting itself at the legislative level, while at the same time it can claim that it is doing so in the interest of preserving the privacy of its users.
For some, the absence of this option is a big obstacle, because of which they prefer to stay loyal to Android. Would you like to record phone calls on iPhones as well, or can you do without it completely?
I want recording!
Ah.. so you won't mind at all if someone records you without your consent and uses it against you.. then I agree.
Of course, most people don't mind this, because nobody has anything to use against them, and if the recording is turned on during a call, it will usually alert you. If you were to go to the absurd, if you don't know about it, he can't use it against you.
In addition, every android can do it, so if someone wants to record you, they will just call from the android
Good evening. I am 75 years old, I have no education in the field either, but I record on my iPhones, I have two, an SE two and a 13 pro max I use daily through the Apple watch. It is priceless! Visits to doctors, meetings with the authorities, and everything that a person needs to remember to play again at any time. Blocking uploads is complete nonsense! There is so much cheap spy technology available today that is completely available and everyone is being recorded anyway whether they know it or not! I count on it, And I act accordingly! So I'm definitely in favor of the recording being routinely available. It is necessary to see the positives and not the negatives! Then it's only a question of your own conscience!
Dobrý den Petře. Můžete mě poradit jakéhodinkymate
This strikes me as total nonsense. Explained this way, it means that Apple, in order to protect me, does not allow me to record the calls, even though the other party will take the recording without restriction. So, I have nothing to defend myself and the other side, depending on how it suits them, has proof of the call or not. If it was really about some kind of user protection, then it doesn't even have the option of uploading with paid applications. This is a commercial rule only, no app can be purchased, only rented.
Quite an important function that I use on Android when there is a lot of information on the phone. I'll say, "Can I record this?" I've never had anyone say "No."
Thanks for the article, I was just one step away from switching from android to apple. I was surprised by the impossibility of recording a call (or only through some obscure paid application). I use it a lot on android - I don't inform anyone about it and I only use it for my own use. This is in accordance with the law. I have so many calls that it is impossible for me to remember everything and I often look for them in the recordings.
