In connection with Apple, there have been several talks about the potential arrival of an Apple game controller. In addition, we have long known about the fact that the giant has at least toyed with this idea through several registered patents. In them, he directly devoted himself to such a device. In recent years, a number of different speculations have also appeared. They tried to outline what an apple controller could actually look like and what it could offer.

But as we know Apple, it doesn't exactly rush into the world of video games twice. That is why the opposite result can be expected. We will probably never see a game controller from Apple. Let's therefore focus on the reasons why we are unlikely to see an Apple gamepad. In fact, there are quite a few of them, and the product as such might not make sense in the end.

Apple does not need its own driver

At the very beginning, it is necessary to mention perhaps the most important fact. Apple practically doesn't need its own controller at all and can easily do without it. Its products support the most widespread controllers from Sony and Microsoft, or a number of other alternatives are also offered, many of which can also be proud of the official Made for iPhone (MFi) certification. We can also find the SteelSeries Nimbus+ directly in the Apple Store Online menu, which does not lack the mentioned MFi certification. At the same time, it goes hand in hand with what we have already mentioned in the paragraph above. Apple is not very into gaming, and therefore it is a question whether it would even make sense if it expanded the offer with its own piece.

If so, then it is clear that in order to be able to compete with the competition, it would have to offer added value in a certain direction. In the case of apple devices, this often stems from the design, overall design and connection with the apple ecosystem. However, it may not be so simple with a gamepad. This is what competitors have been showing us for a long time, for example the Xbox Elite Series 2 or Playstation 5 DualSense Edge controllers. It could be said that they are high-end controllers offering extended options, but this is reflected in the high price. Because of that, there is understandably not that much interest in them. The basic models are more than sufficient, which is why many players rely on them.

It can therefore be assumed that the same would be the case with the apple controller. Although Apple could come up with various gadgets, it is quite likely that it would not convince the majority of ordinary players. Whether with regard to the price itself, the (in)availability of games on apple platforms and others. It is for these reasons that apple fans are more inclined to the option that we simply won't get a game controller. Apple would probably not be able to compete with cheaper and proven alternatives.
