Some colors sell better, others worse. A lot depends on the phone model and who is buying it. Personally, I prefer more interesting colors than dark or light, but it's true that, at least in the iPhone Pro range, the selection is rather austere. At the same time, the basic series has again been expanded with a new color variant. But why didn't the Pro model come?

Previously, Apple gave a new color to its iPhones only in bursts, and it was usually (PRODUCT)RED red, with the purchase of which you donated to a good cause. But those were the times before the iPhone X. The spring tradition of introducing new colors was only introduced with the iPhone 12 generation, to which a purple variant was added in April 2021 – but only for basic models.

It was therefore quite a surprise that we got a new color in the complete portfolio last spring. Green was added to the iPhone 13 and 13 mini, and Alpine green to the iPhone 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max. Based on the situation this year, it looks like last year was the first and last time that Apple wanted to revive the Pro line as well. He didn't have an obvious reason, because his iPhone 13 Pro sold very well.

Why isn't the iPhone 14 Pro yellow?

The yellow iPhone 14 portfolio shone brightly, but among the iPhone 14 Pro we already have gold, which is of course very close to yellow. In addition, yellow would have no place in professional iPhones, as it would be unnecessarily eye-catching. It would mean that Apple would have to come up with a darker shade, and with that it could get even richer and more striking colors. Yellow would not be ideal, so it would be recommended to go for some dark blue or green.

But Apple didn't do that, and didn't do that for a fairly obvious reason. There is no need to deal with the new color of the iPhone 14 Pro, because it is still a sales hit. Their shortage at the end of the year meant that there is a constant demand for the most equipped iPhones, and the production lines are running at full speed to meet the demand. So why revive the portfolio with another color that would actually miss the effect and just cause more work for the same money?

It's the exact opposite of the iPhone 14 and especially the iPhone 14 Plus, which aren't selling as well as Apple would like. Yes, of course he has himself to blame for adding too little news to them and setting an unnecessarily high price, but that's his fight. The expansion of the color portfolio is definitely nice, because the customer can choose from several colors according to his favorite. But from a personal point of view, I have to say that the blue of the iPhone 14 is one of the nicest colors that Apple has ever given iPhones. The yellow one is really cheerful, but it's still very flashy, which can actually bother many people who don't immediately hide their phone in a cover.
