Apple computers have a really long history, and Apple is constantly improving them. Of course, this also applies to Apple laptops. Their basic use is very easy and intuitive, but in addition to the basic procedures, there are also a number of other tricks that will make working with your MacBook even easier, more pleasant and more efficient.

Watching YouTube in picture-in-picture mode

Unlike the iOS and iPadOS operating systems, where watching YouTube videos in picture-in-picture mode is conditional on a premium membership, you have this option on Mac even without an activated subscription. The procedure is simple - just right-click twice on the window with the playing video and select Picture in Picture in the menu that appears. The second option is to click on the appropriate icon at the bottom of the video window.

Split View on Mac

Similar to the iPad, you can also use the Split View mode on the Mac, thanks to which you will be able to work in two windows at once. First, launch the applications you want to work in. Then in the upper left corner of the window of one of the applications, click on the green button and exit the full screen mode. After that, click on the green button once more, this time for a long time, and in the menu that appears, choose Place window on the left / right side of the screen. Apply the same procedure to the second window.

Quickly hide the Dock

Located at the bottom of your Mac's screen, the Dock is completely unobtrusive most of the time and usually doesn't get in the way of your work. However, there may be times when you need to quickly hide this part of the system. For these cases, the keyboard shortcut Cmd + Option (Alt) + D will come in handy, thanks to which you can instantly hide the Dock at any time. Use the same key combination again to return the Dock back to your Mac screen.

Emoji on hold

If you want to add emoji to your text while typing on your iPhone or iPad, simply switch to the appropriate keyboard. But how do you find the right symbol on a Mac? Fortunately, it's not difficult at all. Similar to the case of quickly hiding the Dock, you can also use a keyboard shortcut to help here - this time it's Control + Cmd + Spacebar. You will be presented with a menu from which you only need to click to select the image you want to use.

File preview

You don't need to open the file to check what file is hiding under the bland name of the item in the Finder or on the desktop. If you just want to quickly preview a file, simply click to select the file and then press the space bar. You will be shown either a preview of the file or, in the case of a folder, a window with basic information.
