Last year's iPhone 12 generation finally boasted the long-awaited support for 5G networks. According to available information from the most respected analyst, Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple is going to introduce the same innovation in the cheaper iPhone SE model, which should be presented to the world already in the first half of next year. In terms of design, it should not differ from the previous SE model and will therefore bear the appearance of the iPhone 8. But the main difference will come in performance and the already mentioned 5G support.

This is what the iPhone 13 Pro will look like (yield):

The device will be marketed as the cheapest 5G iPhone ever, which Apple plans to take advantage of. Currently, the cheapest Apple phone with 5G support is the iPhone 12 mini, whose price tag starts at just under 22 crowns, which is not quite an amount where the word "cheapest" sounds good. At the same time, speculation about a device called the iPhone SE Plus was circulating on the Internet. This should offer a larger display and a Touch ID fingerprint reader. But in the latest report, Kuo does not mention a similar phone at all. It is therefore not clear whether it was dropped from development, or perhaps a similar model was never considered.

In addition, Kuo has previously claimed that Apple is working on an improved version of the iPhone 11 with a 6″ LCD display, Face ID and 5G support. This model should be revealed in 2023 at the earliest and will most likely join the iPhone SE lineup. The originally mentioned iPhone SE with 5G support will be revealed to the world during the spring keynote in 2022.
