When Apple introduced the Dynamic Island to the world last year, it did not present it as an element in which it wants to hide the "hole" in the display for Face ID and the front camera, but as a brand new element for interacting with the smartphone. Sure, it was clear to every Apple fan from the beginning that this was a masking of those two things, but given how nice Dynamic Island looked at the time, everyone was able to forgive Apple for this trick. However, given that information is slowly starting to emerge that we will say goodbye to the "bullet" for Face ID next year in the Pro series, and perhaps also the hole for the camera a year later, questions are also beginning to appear about how long the life of the Dynamic Iceland will actually be. However, it is possible that even Apple itself does not yet know the answer.

In general, it can be said that Dynamic Island - meaning its interactive side - has brought a number of useful gadgets to iPhones, starting with a new notification area for certain things, continuing through indicators such as the score of football matches, and ending with an element that can be used to maximize the application in the background. With this in mind, it is therefore hard to imagine that Apple would want to get rid of it in the future, as it has been able to invent countless uses for it, which, quite frankly, has a far more combed-over impression than iPhones with a classic cutout. However, there is one major but, and that is the customizability of applications.

As we wrote in one of our older articles, Dynamic Island is currently quite largely overlooked by application developers, and only this year can we expect that this situation will finally change. Developers will suddenly have the motivation to adapt applications for the much larger user base of Dynamic Island, as the iPhone 14 Pro will also complement the iPhone 15 and 15 Pro. However, motivation is one thing and implementation is another. Although it is quite unlikely, it may well happen that the interest of developers in Dynamic Island will not be too great even after the unveiling of other iPhones with this element, and its usability will therefore continue to be small. And precisely for this reason, the big question is what is actually the future of Dynamic Island, because if the developers did not use it, it would have very little use from the logic of the matter and therefore it would not make much sense to keep it alive. However, it should also be considered that Dynamic Island will be here at least until Face ID and the front camera can be hidden under the display of basic iPhones, which is at least four and a half years away. During this time, Apple can easily come up with another option for system interaction with the user and then slowly start switching to this solution again. However, due to the current experience with the "interest" in Dynamic Island, it can be expected that the deployment of this hypothetical novelty will change its timing. But who knows, maybe in the end they will convince us with something completely different. One way or another, it is definitely not an easy task in this direction.
