Last week, we informed you that some owners of the new 16″ MacBook Pros are complaining about popping and clicking sounds coming from the laptop speaker under certain circumstances. Apple has now released a document intended for authorized service providers. In it, he states that this is a software bug, that he plans to fix it in the near future, and instructs the service staff on how to approach customers with this problem.

“When using Final Cut Pro X, Logic Pro X, QuickTime Player, Music, Movies, or other audio playback applications, users may hear a crackling sound coming from the speakers after playback is stopped. Apple is investigating the issue. A fix is planned in future software updates. Since this is a software bug, please do not schedule service or exchange computers,” it is in the document intended for services.

Users gradually began to complain about the mentioned problem shortly after the sixteen-inch MacBook Pro was put on sale. Complaints were heard not only on Apple's support forums, but also on social networks, discussion boards or YouTube. The exact cause of this problem is not yet known, but Apple has confirmed in the aforementioned document that it is a software, not a hardware problem. Over the weekend, Apple released the fourth developer beta version of the macOS Catalina 10.15.2 operating system. However, it is not yet certain which version of macOS Catalina will fix the mentioned problem.
