The removal of the classic 3,5 mm jack in the iPhone 7 was by far the most controversial move, which Apple has done with its flagship phone this year. In addition, it is already slowly preparing the ground for removing the headphone jack in computers as well. Quite possibly it will be only a matter of time again.
The fact that they are investigating such a variant at Apple was revealed by the company itself, when it started sending out questionnaires to users, in which it asks about the 3,5 mm jack, which all its computers have.
"Do you ever use the headphone jack on your MacBook Pro with Retina display?" reads a survey Apple uses to find out how users use its products. In a similar vein, he asks about battery life, SD card slot usage, or the ways users transfer photos from cameras and iPhones to Macs.
Do you ever use the headphone jack on your MacBook Pro with Retina display? asks Apple.

According to the latest reports, the new MacBook Pros should arrive already in October and they will bring a touch panel for function keys or Touch ID. As for connectors, according to the leaked chassis, which has not yet been confirmed, the new MacBook Pro could only have four USB-C ports and one headphone jack. It's possible that HDMI, SD cards, older USB or MagSafe won't get to it at all.
Given that this year's MacBook Pro should get a new design after many years, which will apparently include a 3,5 mm jack, the headphone jack will probably not just disappear. For example, in other machines - for example, the 12-inch MacBook - Apple could be much faster with the removal of the jack.
Well, it will please... :D I'm in favor of replacing all ports with usbc/thunderbolt 3. It's a clear future, but they really shouldn't need jack, at least for now :D let him take out whatever he wanted from the Macbook, but why is why...
you will get a reduction from USB-C to jack, so the transition will be gradual. And if the new macbook pro will have 4 USB-C ports, you're actually in the same situation as the current version, if you don't use thunderbolt. You use one for power, the other for headphones, and the remaining two for connecting disks, etc., just like the classic USB on current macbooks. :-)
I see. And who will carry the package of various moronic and overpriced converters with them? A connector is just a connector, and the computer is meant to have one.
a computer is a computer if it has enough ports, performance, components and peripherals. If it doesn't have any of the above, then Apple will produce something like that. And it's called the iPad.
It's for professionals... I think they should definitely leave it on for a few more years, because I definitely need it... as a university student on Pročka, I have headphones on almost non-stop... they have to be on the intranet, otherwise you wouldn't learn anything, and during school breaks too... to endure 5 hours of bluetooth headphones is absurd for me... and in addition, having bluetooth around my head almost all day... I don't know if it can be harmful :)
I am using it right now…
I mainly hope that MagSafe will be preserved or that there will be a functional alternative to it.
Definitely yes. And I hope that the new MacBook Pro series will retain all the connectors including MagSafe…
