The popular app Sleep Cycle probably doesn't need much introduction. For several years now, it has been one of the most downloaded applications focusing on sleep quality and monitoring, as well as gentle wake-up options. Yesterday, the developers announced the expansion of functions and support for the Apple Watch. Thanks to this, several functions are now available that were previously unthinkable - for example, a tool to suppress snoring.

With the transition to the Apple Watch, there are two new features that owners of this app can use. This is the aforementioned Snore Stopper, which, as the name suggests, helps stop snoring. In practice, it should work very easily – thanks to a special sound analysis, the application recognizes that the owner is snoring while sleeping. Subsequently, it starts generating gentle vibration impulses, after which the user should stop snoring. The strength of the vibrations is said not to be strong enough to arouse the user. It is said to only force him to change his sleeping position and thereby stop snoring.

Another function is silent wake-up, which uses very similar vibration impulses, but this time with increased intensity to wake up. The advantage of this solution is that, in practice, it should only wake up the person wearing the Apple Watch. It shouldn't be a classic annoying alarm clock that wakes up everyone in the room when it rings. In addition to the aforementioned functions, the application can also measure the heart rate during sleep, thus contributing to the overall analysis of the quality of your sleep activity.

You can then view detailed information about the quality of your sleep on both your iPhone and Apple Watch. Falling asleep with the Apple Watch on your wrist may not seem like a very good idea due to the fact that the watch discharges during sleep, but the newer versions of the Apple Watch can charge relatively quickly, and you can compensate for the discharge overnight by, for example, charging during the morning shower. The application is available in the App Store in a limited mode for free. Unlocking all features will cost you $30/euro per year.
