Analyst companies have released their personal computer sales statistics. While the global computer market is experiencing modest growth, Apple is in the doldrums.

The current quarter is not very favorable for Apple in the computer segment. The personal computer market is growing slightly compared to overall expectations, but Macs are not doing so well and their sales are falling. The two leading companies Gartner and IDC also rarely agreed on this statistic, which usually have different ratings.

In the most recent quarter, Apple sold around 5,1 million Macs, which is down from the same quarter in 2018, when it sold 5,3 million. The decrease is therefore 3,7%. Apple's overall market share also fell, from 7,9% to 7,5%.

Apple still holds fourth place behind Lenovo, HP and Dell. According to the latest analyses, it should still move above Acer and Asus. What is certainly interesting is that all the manufacturers in the first three ranks are growing and the PC market generally did better. He thus exceeded pessimistic expectations.

Apple is holding its own in the US domestic market

Apple's decline surprised some analysts. Many assumed that the refreshed MacBook Air and MacBook Pro models would revive sales. Customers were apparently not convinced by these computers. In addition, the entire range of iMac desktop computers, including the iMac Pro, still remains unupdated in the portfolio. Industry professionals are also waiting for the powerful Mac Pro, which should arrive sometime this fall.

Thus, Apple still holds the position in the domestic market in the USA. Here he managed to maybe even grow slightly, but given the statistics based on estimates, this growth may not be so significant. The numbers call for sales of 2,186 million Macs sold, up 0,2% from the same quarter in 2018.

Also in the US, Apple is in fourth place. China's Lenovo, on the other hand, is third. Americans obviously prefer domestic manufacturers, as HP leads the list, followed by Dell. It was the only one in the top three that also grew by 3,2%.

The hope of some analysts now they are pointing towards the expected 16" MacBook Pro, which we could expect together with other products during October.
