Apple will have a new CFO starting in October. The California-based company announced today that its Senior Vice President and CFO Peter Oppenheimer will retire at the end of September this year. Peter Oppenheimer has been with Apple since 1996. Over the past ten years, when he served as CFO, Apple's annual revenues grew from $8 billion to $171 billion. “His management, leadership and expertise have played a large role in Apple's success, to which he has contributed not only as CFO, but also in many areas outside of finance, as he has often been involved in various other activities within Apple. His contributions and integrity in the role of our CFO sets a new benchmark for what a publicly traded CFO should look like," CEO Tim Cook said in a press release on his upcoming departure.

“Peter is also a dear friend of mine who I could always count on. While I'm sad to see him leave, I'm also happy he'll have more time for himself and his family," Cook added to Oppenheimer's address, immediately announcing who would become the new CFO - the veteran Luca Maestri (pictured above ).

"Luca has over 25 years of global experience in senior financial management, including serving as CFO in publicly traded companies.
