Applications of the native Apple iWork package are available to users across almost all devices, including the iPad. Among other things, this package also includes the native Pages application, and it is its iPad version that we will focus on in today's article.

Collaboration with other users

Pages on iPad, like other platforms of this type, allow multiple users to collaborate on a shared document. Only invited users can collaborate on the selected document, collaboration can also be set as public. To set cooperation details, click on the portrait icon on the bar at the top of the display. In the menu that appears, select the desired method of sending the invitation. Click Sharing Options to edit document access permission details.

Creating a chart

In Pages on Mac, you don't just need to work with plain text, you can also add graphics to your documents. To add a chart to your document in Pages on iPad, tap the "+" at the top of the screen. In the upper part of the menu that appears, click on the graph icon (second from the right), select the graph and adjust its parameters to suit you.

Spell check

Pages for iPad offers automatic corrections. If you want to activate them, click on the icon of three dots in a circle in the upper right corner and select Settings (note - not Document Settings). Click on Automatic corrections, and in the menu that appears, activate the desired items. You can activate, for example, automatic detection of phone numbers, links, automatic formatting of fractions and more.

Document annotation

You can also annotate documents in Pages on iPad. With your finger or Apple Pencil, you can add highlights, drawings, sketches, and use dynamic annotations. These are associated with the relevant text, so if you delete that text from the document, the accompanying annotation will also disappear. To add annotations, click on the icon of three dots in a circle at the top of the screen, and in the menu that appears, click on Dynamic annotations.

View statistics

While writing a document, many of us need to continuously check, for example, the number of words, characters and other parameters. The possibility to display this data is of course also offered by the Pages application in the iPad version. Just click on the document icon in the upper left corner (to the right of the Documents button). Activate the items you want to display here. You will see a word count at the bottom of the screen, and tap on it to see more information.
