Another week of July is just around the corner and we are slowly halfway through the summer holidays, even though most schoolchildren had their holidays extended due to the coronavirus. Despite this, of course, something is still happening in the world of the bitten apple. Let's look together at the already traditional Apple summary, which we prepare for you every weekday, at the news that happened today and over the weekend. In the first news, we will look at interesting predictions regarding new products from Apple, in the second news, we will focus on the novelty that Skype has added to the iPhone, and finally, we will focus on the Apple Pencil, which should potentially learn a new function soon.

We may see new apple products in a few days

During yesterday, new information about the future steps of Apple appeared on Twitter, specifically on the profile of the user @L0vetodream. It should be noted that the leaker @L0vetodream recently managed to reveal ahead of time the exact name of macOS 11, i.e. Big Sur, together with many novelties that appeared in the current latest operating systems iOS and iPadOS 14 or watchOS 7, so his information can be considered quite trustworthy. Unfortunately, the aforementioned leaker did not say any information about what products we should look forward to, only stating that these upcoming products are ready for the first consumers to purchase. Even before this year's first conference, it was rumored that Apple would introduce brand new and redesigned iMacs at WWDC, but at the last minute it was supposed to be canceled. So it is quite likely that we will see the introduction of new iMacs. We will definitely not see Apple phones, as Apple traditionally presents them at the conference in September, in addition to that, we recently saw the start of sales of the iPhone SE 2nd generation. So we'll see what Apple comes up with (and if at all) - if it does, you can be sure that you'll find all the news on Jablíčkář and our sister site Flying around the world with Apple.

Skype has learned a new feature on iPhone

If you want to make video calls on your iPhone or iPad, you can of course use FaceTime. But what are you going to lie to yourself about, Apple's FaceTime has, in a way, put time to sleep. While the competing application offers countless different functions that can definitely be useful in certain cases, FaceTime is still FaceTime and does not change significantly, that is, except for the maximum number of users who can participate in one video call. If you use Skype on your Mac or computer, you have definitely noticed the function to blur the background, or to change the background to any image. For now, this feature was only available on desktop devices, but today Skype came with an update, thanks to which you can also use the mentioned feature on iPhone or iPad. It should be noted that this function works really reliably in Skype. Of course, you won't use it everywhere, for example it's quite useless at home, but it can definitely come in handy in a cafe or office.

Apple Pencil should offer a new feature soon

If you're a modern artist who likes to draw and create various art on the iPad, you probably also own an Apple Pencil. The Apple Pencil is an absolutely necessary helper for many iPad users, which I can confirm from the opinions of those around me. Of course, Apple does not leave the Apple Pencil somewhere in the background and tries to keep improving it. According to available information, the apple pencil should offer a new function, thanks to which the user will be able to get the color of a certain real object. This is not evidenced by one of the latest published patents from Apple. According to him, the Apple Pencil should receive photodetectors, with the help of which it would be enough to touch an object with the tip of the apple pencil, which would record the color of the object you touched. Similar technologies are used, for example, in paint shops, where a special device is used to measure the color of an object (for example, a car part), and then the exact shade of color is mixed. Despite the fact that this technology is no longer groundbreaking and Apple could easily come up with it, it must be noted that the Californian giant will register several hundred patents within one year and most of them will not turn into reality anyway. We will see if this particular patent will be an exception and we will really see the "dropper" function for the Apple Pencil in the future.
