After two years, it received a new version on Thursday Mac mini. Apple's smallest computer got Haswell processors, faster graphics and Wi-Fi (802.11ac). However, it's no longer possible to get a mini quad-core processor or more than 1TB of storage in a Mac.

Many users are also not happy with the fact that the RAM memory, which is soldered directly to the board, is no longer user-replaceable, so its maximum size in the latest Mac mini is 16 GB, and you have to choose this configuration at the time of purchase.

For the basic model starting at 13 crowns, the upgrade to 990GB memory costs 16 crowns, for the two higher models, which already have 7 GB of memory as a base, the upgrade costs 800 crowns.

User exchangeable should be according to Brian Stucki at least the hard drives inside the new Mac mini, although doing so will void your warranty. The basic version of the Mac mini comes with a 500GB hard drive, the middle variant has a 1TB hard drive, and the top model combines a hard drive with an SSD within the 1TB Fusion Drive. The bad news is that the base hard drives are only 5400rpm, the 2012 Mac mini already had a base 7rpm drive which was a nice bonus.

Apple offers either flash storage or Fusion Drive instead of these hard drives. For the basic model with a 1,4GHz processor, you can choose a 6TB Fusion Drive for 500 crowns. For the middle model with a 1GHz processor, Apple offers either 2,6GB of flash storage or a 5TB Fusion Drive for 200 crowns. The top model with a 256GHz processor offers the most variety. Here, Apple offers to either exchange the 1TB Fusion Drive for 2,8GB of flash storage free of charge, or choose a 1GB SSD for 256 crowns or even a 7TB SSD for 800 crowns.

However, Apple has already stopped offering the "server" version of the Mac mini, so it is no longer possible to insert two disks into the smallest Apple computer. So from Apple, you will always get a new Mac mini with a maximum of 1 TB of storage.
