On foreign forums (be it official Apple support forums or various magazines such as Macrumors), topics have been accumulating in recent months about the poorly functioning display of some iPad Pros, especially the 2017 and 2018 models. Users complain that their iPad displays freeze, do not respond to touch or respond late. Due to the relatively limited occurrence of this problem mentioned above, it is not yet clear how widespread the problem is. However, the truth remains that mentions of poorly functioning displays are appearing more and more often.

Users who register the above-mentioned problems complain that the displays of their iPad Pro often do not register touch gestures at all, the display gets stuck and freezes when scrolling, individual keys are not registered when typing on the virtual keyboard, and report other similar problems associated with a defective by registering gestures. For some users, these problems appeared over time, for others they began to appear almost immediately after unpacking the iPad Pro from the box.

In some cases, users complain that the display does not respond in specific places, in practice, for example, specific letters fall out on the virtual keyboard, which is simply impossible to "press". In similar cases, Apple allegedly does not know what to do, even a complete device recovery does not help. In some cases, this problem appeared even after replacing the iPad with a completely new one.

Other users complain about iPads getting stuck when browsing the web, the display getting stuck when changing the orientation from vertical to horizontal, or random jumping that reacts to non-existent touches. In connection with these problems, the latest iPad Pros from 2018 are most often discussed. Mentions of problematic versions from 2017 and 2016 are rare.

When users contact Apple with a problem, they will in most cases replace the damaged iPad. The problem, however, is that similar errors appear on new pieces as well. However, not everyone is lucky enough to receive an exchange from Apple.

It is currently unclear whether the problems are due to faulty hardware or software. One solution may be that quite a few users report that display problems disappear after connecting the Apple Pencil. Have you encountered something like this, or are your iPad Pros working perfectly?
