The MacBook Air, the 1-inch MacBook Pro and the Mac mini with the M6 processor, which Apple introduced at its Keynote yesterday, are also the first Apple computers to offer Wi-Fi 802.11 (1ax) support. Apple started to introduce support for this connectivity in its devices already in March of this year, together with the release of the iPad Pro, but it did not introduce it, anyway, for older Macs without an MXNUMX processor.

The Wi-Fi 6 standard offers users higher speed and capacity, lower latency and improved energy efficiency. It is especially ideal for households in which multiple Wi-Fi products are used at the same time, be it computers, smartphones, tablets, or smart home elements. The range of home routers that offer Wi-Fi 6 support continues to grow, so the introduction of this support for this year's Macs with M1 processors is a very welcome change.

In this year's Macs, there have been no significant changes in terms of appearance or functions, but the keyboard of this year's Mac with the M1 lacks functional keys for controlling the brightness of the keyboard backlight and for launching the Launchpad - instead, functional keys for activating Spotlight, activating Do Not Disturb mode and launching voice entering. The Fn key in the lower left corner of the keyboard has a globe icon - it is used to switch the input source. The new MacBook Air is equipped with a keyboard with a scissor mechanism, which Apple already equipped its Air earlier this year. This type of keyboard is more reliable and has a lower failure rate than a keyboard with a butterfly mechanism.
