Sure, the display got bigger, the sensors for measuring health functions were improved, and charging was much faster, but even so, it is functionally a practically identical product not only to the previous generation in the form of the Apple Watch Series 6, but also to the previous generation. In the editorial office, we are looking for reasons why people who own Series 4 and later should actually reach for the new model. However, we have moved slightly in the area of design, because the watches have become thinner, and the bezels have almost disappeared from them. Unfortunately, we did not get a design with sharp edges, as recent renders and concepts suggested.

In addition to the fact that Apple stopped selling last year's model in the form of the Series 6, as expected, one more product was discontinued. Specifically, these are classic leather straps that Apple has been offering since 2015, i.e. for six long years. It is not at all clear why the Californian giant decided to take this step - and most likely we will not even get an official statement or explanation of the reason. But it is very likely that the engineers from Cupertino simply did not like these straps, or that their design simply did not "fit" with the new Apple Watch Series 7.
But if you like discarded leather straps and have some at home, then we have good news for you - you will be able to use them on the latest Apple Watch. All older straps are compatible, which means that future Apple Watch Series 7 owners will not have to buy new straps. Until the performance itself, it was not clear how it would actually be. We knew that we would see an enlarged display and that the body would most likely be redesigned, but on the other hand, we did not know which direction Apple would take in this case. If he decided that the straps were not compatible, he would surely make a huge amount of money. Now, however, Apple has decided to put profit aside and bet more on ecology and customer satisfaction, which is perfect news. If you have a crush on the Apple Watch Series 7, you should know that it is not yet certain when we will see the start of sales. Apple says sometime in the fall.
