Jiří Filip Electric scooters have been extremely popular lately, and Xiaomi ones in particular. In order to satisfy all customers, the Chinese manufacturer hastened with a new model in the form of the Mi Electric Scooter Essential. It is already on the shelves of Czech stores and offers not only several improvements, but also a lower price.

The new model with the nickname Essential represents a lightweight version of the popular Xiaomi Mi Scooter Pro. New electric scooter it boasts a weight of only 12 kg and, in conjunction with a faster folding system, it is significantly easier to carry. The Mi Scooter Pro is lightweight in other parameters as well. With a range of 20 km and a maximum speed of 20 km/h, it is an ideal vehicle for teenagers or for those who want to travel around the city, for example to work. In addition, it offers improved brakes, sophisticated cruise control, skid-resistant tires, higher load capacity and, like the Pro model, it also has a display on the handlebars that provides a quick overview of everything you need.

You'll be surprised, but overall it's a big improvement. That scooter has a bunch of little things that have been rather subtly improved, including the packaging. That battery has a reserve so that they can increase the service life and better comply with the declared parameters. It is supposed to be a replacement for Junior. They found that a bunch of people use it around town, or for short distances, or for kids who weigh mushrooms. So, compared to the previous model, it has a display like a PRO, 3 driving modes, a front light that is twice as strong with a better shaped light beam, and overall you can see the improvement even in the blanks and details. So I don't know about the foam handles, but maybe it will be a positive change. It is not a replacement for the standard model!!! It is a junior replacement and yet in many ways it is better than the previous standard.

Just a combination of the pro version from which it has a display and a battery from the oldest model, so it has less weight and range, otherwise what I see is the same folding system and brakes.
Are they serious about the range? I am the owner of the original scooter and it has a range of approx. 30 km, which is not true, it has a much smaller range and this one, if I read the circumstances, has a range of about 16 km. I certainly wouldn't buy it for that money, and one extra reflector won't improve it... .at the same time, the weight is the same as the original... so a pleasant change but quite for the worse!!
