Music Memos, the App Store for Messages and now Clips. Apple is expanding its portfolio of fun and creative apps. As early as next month, we should get a new Clips video application in iOS 10.3, which promises to create and share fun videos with captions, effects, emoticons and fresh graphics. The aforementioned features are already offered by a number of apps and social networks, such as Snapchat, and Apple is now trying to offer everything in one big package. And as a bonus it adds the Live Titles function.

Live Titles makes it very easy to create animated titles for your video by simply dictating them and Clips will convert them to text. The new application is supposed to support 36 languages, and we can only hope that Czech will be among them. In addition to Live Titles, you can now choose from traditional adjustments, filters and effects, which are offered in various combinations by competing applications.

You can record footage directly in Clips, but you can also work with already recorded videos or photos from the library, importing is easy. If you're interested, you can add subtitles to the video and then some of the plethora of effects to give the video - as Apple says - a twist.

You choose a filter from the menu, while there is also an artistic one, not unlike the popular Prisma application, insert emoticons, add graphics in the form of text bubbles or arrows. You can also add music to your work that will automatically adjust to the length of your video. Once you're happy with your edits and video, you can share your creation in the highest quality possible.

Clips automatically recognizes who is in the video and suggests who to share it with. One tap on the name to send the finished video via Messages. And if you want to display your creation publicly, it's just as easy to upload it to Facebook, Instagram, YouTube or Twitter.

The best of social media

It is from these social networks and many other applications and their functions that Apple has composed Clips. We will come across familiar things from Snapchat, Vine or the aforementioned Prisma. The difference is that Clips is not a social network, but only a creative tool from which you upload to social networks. But for Apple at the moment, what is most important is that it will have a similar tool and will be able to demonstrate the ever-increasing functions of its lenses on it, which has potential especially for the future.

"This is more than Snapchat about the fact that the camera is driving new iPhone sales," commented new twitter app mathew panzarino z TechCrunch. "Apple needs its own way to promote the camera and its possible 3D sensing or positioning capabilities."

Clips will then be welcomed by users who do not live on Snapchat, Instagram or Facebook, but still like to send a funny video with family or friends, which will now be much more straightforward and easier. It's not for nothing that Clips has been talked about as a successor to iMovie or even Final Cut Pro, in the sense that Clips is a simple iMovie for today's young generation, living by short videos full of effects on social networks. After all, the developers of iMovie and FCP also participated in Clips.

Apple is done the extension of iMessage to the App Store, emoticons and similar news another new tool for a modern and popular way of communication. There were also speculations that Apple could have considered creating another App Store just for the Camera application, but in the end it preferred to bet on a separate application, which it should bring to users together with iOS 10.3 during April.
