Adam Kos Apple is preparing its keynote on September 7, at which it will show us the shape of the iPhone 14 series and the Apple Watch Series 8, maybe even the Apple Watch SE and Pro, the 10th generation iPad, and the 2nd generation AirPods Pro are also expected. This is why buying a new Apple device is now a rather unfortunate move. But if you want to get rid of one, don't hesitate.
It's a fairly simple strategy. Apple will present the successors of the current generations of its products, while the existing ones will naturally be cheaper. Of course, we don't know how much the new ones will cost, just like we don't know how much the existing models will drop in price. But it is an inevitable step, because the iPhone 13 and Apple Watch Series 7 will already be a year old devices, and the AirPods Pro will be 3 years old.

So if you were to buy these devices now, you would still be buying them at full price. That is, if you don't find a store that provides a certain discount on them in order to clear out the warehouses before the expected new items. But since he may not be sure how much Apple will discount, this discount may not pay off at all in the end. This does not only apply to the iPhone 13, but Apple also offers the basic iPhones 12 and 11, when the last mentioned model will probably drop out of its portfolio. But sellers will keep offering it until it sells out, and because of that, it can already have a really nice price tag.
Just for example: iPhone 13 starts at CZK 22, iPhone 990 at CZK 12 and iPhone 19 at CZK 990. But then there is the iPhone SE 11rd generation, which has a price tag starting at CZK 14. If we consider that the iPhone 490 will replace the iPhone 3 with its price, which in turn will replace the 12, then it can reach the price of the current SE model, which does have a more powerful chip, but that's all and it is now the worst possible purchase – precisely with regard to discounting. This will not affect the 490rd generation iPhone SE, because it is placed outside the basic portfolio and was introduced only in the spring of this year.

In the secondary market for used devices, prices are charged even with regard to the current official recommended prices of iPhones (and other products). So if you know that you want to buy one of the iPhone 14 or perhaps a certain previous generation but for better money, it is worth not waiting for anything and offering your current model for immediate sale, even if you do not have the new one in your hands yet. Back up your device and use some backup for a while. You can now sell your machine for thousands of CZK more than it will be in a week.

Of course, you will have to mentally cope with the fact that the buyer probably has no idea that a new line of Apple products will be released in a week and the prices of older generations will drop across the board. This situation repeats itself every year, and the end of summer is the worst time to buy, but the best time to sell. iPhones 13 are currently on Facebook Marketplace in the price range from 12 to 20 thousand CZK, depending on the version, condition and length of the remaining warranty.
